Chapter 45 Purchasing Potions
Chapter 45 Purchasing Potions
Ring ring ring~~ Ring ring ring~~
As the shop door was pushed open, a soft ringing sound rang out inside.
Immediately afterwards, a wizard apprentice, also dressed in a wizard's robe, who was probably a waiter in the shop, hurriedly came out from behind the shelves inside the shop.
Upon seeing Victor, he paused briefly, his eyes quickly scanning Victor's wizard robes, before a smile spread across his face as he greeted him:
"Hello, this guest."
"Welcome to 'Libra'! We adhere to the principle of absolutely fair trade, and whatever your needs, we can meet them!"
"Would you like to browse the products yourself, or would you like me to recommend some to you?"
Victor glanced at him and replied:
"Let me take a look first, and I'll contact you if I need anything."
The waiter nodded upon hearing this:
"Of course, guest, you are welcome to watch for yourself."
"If there's anything you don't understand, just ask me."
After saying that, he naturally stepped aside and stopped bothering Viktor.
Viktor nodded slightly to him, then turned around and began to examine the first row of shelves.
Clearly, this was his first time visiting this shop... but he wasn't entirely without a purpose, because this was a shop that Nina had recommended to him during a previous conversation. Apparently, this shop, just like its name suggests, places great importance on fairness and rules in transactions.
There won't be any scenes like those in some alchemy shops where big shops bully their customers.
Therefore, he has a good reputation among wizards.
Before entering the shop, Victor had assumed it was a small shop that relied on word of mouth to survive. However, contrary to its unassuming appearance, the shop was actually quite luxurious inside.
The dazzling gold color, whether it was all gold or not, made the gems that shone brightly under the magic lights look real.
The interior was extremely spacious, with rows of shelves filled with all sorts of goods. Various potions were carefully packaged in boxes, spell scrolls were neatly stacked, and there were even wands in gift boxes...
For a moment, Viktor had the illusion that he had been shopping in a supermarket in his past life... In addition to the different products being sold, there were even member-only discounts here, which broadened his horizons!
However, as he strolled around, Victor couldn't help but sigh again.
The reason is simple: many of the items here are good, and there are even quite a few that he can tell at a glance are magical items with special attributes, and the effects of those attributes might even be quite good. However, the number of magic stones required for each item makes his idea vanish instantly.
He simply stopped looking at it, because looking at it would only annoy him.
He then summoned the waiter and inquired:
"I'm planning to buy a few basic potions to aid in meditation. Do you have any recommendations?"
The waiter approached, and after hearing Victor's question, he thought for a moment and replied:
"Guest, since you need a basic potion and have specified that it is a potion to assist in meditation and cultivation, then I'm afraid the selection is not very large."
"I can only recommend three types to you, in order of price from low to high: 'Depth Potion', 'Devotion Potion', and finally, 'Divine Potion'."
"Guest, I'm not sure if you're aware of the differences between these three medicines, but would you like me to explain them to you?"
"I know all that. Forget about the Divine Elixir. Tell me the prices of the first two potions." Victor nodded. He was already at the Master level in Basic Potions, so he naturally knew about these potions, which weren't exactly rare.
The Deep and Shallow Potions, which I mentioned before, are a type of potion that has recently become popular among wizarding apprentices. They seem to be a castrated version of some kind of high-level potion, but they are quite effective for wizarding apprentices, slightly increasing the speed of meditation and accelerating the improvement of mental strength.
But it seems to have some side effects.
The Devotion Potion is a slightly more advanced one. It is a meditation potion that allows wizards to completely block out any interference during meditation. It can also accelerate the efficiency of meditation and magic refining, and has no obvious side effects. It is a "moderate and balanced" potion.
As for the final "divine potion," it is a truly high-end product.
Legend has it that this potion possesses the so-called "power of the gods." Once taken, it can slightly enhance one's mental strength. The key is that it has no side effects. However, it cannot be taken continuously in a short period of time. Each dose must be taken at least one to two years apart before a second dose can be taken, and the effect will be greatly reduced.
Anyway, that's the effect. As for what exactly the 'power of the gods' is, Victor speculates that it might be some kind of magical potion or material containing divinity, or maybe it's not even that.
Even so, the price was still quite high, starting at two hundred magic stones per bottle. Wizards from ordinary families simply couldn't afford it, let alone him...
"Alright, please follow me, this is the area where potions are sold."
The waiter showed absolutely no embarrassment at failing to sell the product.
With his smile unchanged, he turned and led Viktor through the winding shelves until they reached a spot on the outer edge, where rows of shelves displayed various types of potions.
Then he walked to the shelf displaying the 'Depth and Light Potions' and the 'Devotion Potions,' and turned back to ask Victor:
"First is the Dark and Light Potions. These potions can be purchased individually or in sets. The price is three magic stones per bottle or twenty-nine magic stones per set, which contains ten bottles. If you become a member of our shop, the price of a set of Dark and Light Potions will only be twenty-eight magic stones."
"The price of the Devotion Potion is a bit higher. A single bottle costs four magic stones, and a set of ten bottles costs thirty-eight magic stones. The member price is thirty-six magic stones."
"How many bottles of each medicine would you like, sir?"
Viktor's eyelids twitched.
No wonder, almost all wizards have mastered the art of potion-making.
It's not that he likes making potions, it's just that the finished potions are really too expensive for him... If he buys a set of either of these two potions, his pockets will be emptier than his face in an instant.
"I don't need that many, one bottle of each is fine."
Viktor immediately replied.
Although the answer clearly caused a slight change in the waiter's expression, he didn't seem to care.
These waiters who specialize in selling medicine are probably all professionally trained. Although the sound of a few magic stones is small, these shops can't refuse. Even if they show a bad attitude, it's probably only directed at some vain fools who care too much about face.
Many apprentices from noble families are like this; even after becoming wizards, they are still quite concerned about their image and might spend dozens more magic stones if provoked.
Victor, of course, wasn't one to be fooled like that. He completely ignored the waiter's expression, had him lead him to the counter to pay, and then, carrying a box containing two vials of medicine, turned and left...
