Chapter 627: Tangled Choices
Chapter 627: Tangled Choices
After a moment of thought, Lin Kuang quickly dialed Yang Wucheng’s number to share the good news. When Yang Wucheng heard that Dragon Front was coming, his entire body shuddered with excitement! It was Dragon Front, after all—the military’s supreme power, the Dragon’s Edge, omnipresent and invincible! How could he not be ecstatic? After a brief chat, they hung up.
Of course, even if Lin Kuang hadn’t called, his father, Yang Guodong, would have informed Yang Wucheng regardless. Dragon Front’s personnel were coming to the East Sea Military Region, and as its commander, Yang Wucheng had to be notified. With the call finished, Lin Kuang let out a deep sigh of relief.
He stepped out of his room to find the women still chatting animatedly, and the lively atmosphere filled him with joy. Lin Kuang was about to join them when his phone buzzed again, this time with a text message from Fan Bingbing, whom he hadn’t heard from in a long time.
Recently, Fan Bingbing had been working tirelessly. Ever since learning that the Fan Family Head intended to harm Lin Kuang, she was determined to become the next Family Head herself so she could protect him. Her performance in the family’s assessments was already top-notch, and with this newfound motivation, she had surged ahead to become the number one candidate.
No one else had the ability to surpass her. The Fan Family needed a helmsman with a strong strategic vision, not just a powerful individual whose strength would be of little use to their business dealings. This was precisely why Fan Bingbing even had a chance to be a successor in the first place.
In her text, she updated Lin Kuang on her recent progress, but she kept things light, not wanting him to worry about her. In truth, Fan Bingbing was exhausted. One can only imagine how hard it was for a young woman to struggle all on her own. Yet, for Lin Kuang’s sake, she was more than willing. Her days were fulfilling and satisfying, and the thought of one day being able to help him brought her immense joy.
Lin Kuang was delighted to hear from her after so long. They texted back and forth, happily chatting away until it was nearly midnight.
At some point during his chat, the women had all gone upstairs to bed without him even noticing.
Damn it, these rascals left without even telling me. My wives are a real handful! he grumbled to himself, though it was completely useless.
With that thought, Lin Kuang went upstairs, took a quick shower, and began to prowl outside the bedroom doors, a wicked grin on his face. Ultimately, his gaze settled on Yang Ruotong’s door. He really wanted to go and ’discipline’ Lin Guo’er and the little Witch, as those two were far too mischievous. However, he knew Yang Ruotong lacked some self-confidence due to being the oldest of the women. To reassure her and stop her from overthinking, he decided to visit her room instead.
Yang Ruotong wasn’t asleep yet. Dressed in her pajamas, she was lying on the bed looking bored when Lin Kuang strolled in with a beaming smile. She was taken aback for a moment, and then a blush crept across her beautiful face, especially when she saw that the scoundrel was completely naked. She knew exactly what he was there for—after all, what else could a man and a woman do alone in a room in the middle of the night? A wave of joy washed over her. The fact that Lin Kuang chose to visit her room showed how much he valued her, and that made her intensely happy.
"Ruotong, did you miss me?" he asked. His heart pounded as he looked at her lying there, the languid curve of her body barely hidden beneath her pajamas. Not long ago, Britney had already stirred him up, and now he was eager to act on it.
"What do you think?" Yang Ruotong retorted, her face blushing as she shot him a playful look.
"How would I know? I want you to tell me," Lin Kuang said with a grin, sitting beside her. His mischievous hands landed on her, making her delicate body tremble as her charming face grew even redder.
"So, Ruotong, did you miss me or not?" he pressed when she remained silent, his hands becoming bolder.
Yang Ruotong glared at him, lightly biting her lip before whispering, "Yes... I missed you."
"What was that? Your voice is so soft, I can’t hear you," Lin Kuang teased, pretending he hadn’t heard a thing, which earned him another glare.
"If you didn’t hear it, then I’m not saying it again," she huffed.
"Are you sure about that?" he asked with a sly smile, wiggling his fingers in front of her. The message was clear: if you don’t tell me the truth, I’ll have to get rough.
Seeing his playful threat, Yang Ruotong had no choice but to surrender. "You rascal! I missed you, I missed you so much, alright!" she exclaimed, sitting up and throwing herself into his arms. Leaning against his powerful chest, she felt herself melting.
This jerk. All he does is bully me, she thought, even as her heart swelled with bliss.
Hearing her confession, Lin Kuang finally smiled in satisfaction. "Heh, that’s a good girl, Ruotong. If you’d just said so earlier, I would have let go."
Yang Ruotong shot him an indignant glare. "You brat, you get more shameless by the day."
"Is that so?" he replied with a wicked laugh. "Then I’ll be shameless for you to see!"
With that, he pinned her beneath him. He didn’t even give her time to undress. With a surge of energy from his palms, her pajamas were instantly blasted to shreds. Yang Ruotong stared in shock for a moment before her pretty face turned an even deeper shade of crimson.
The lights went out, and the temperature in the room began to soar. It was going to be another sleepless night.
They went at it until nearly five in the morning, when a weary Yang Ruotong finally drifted off to sleep. A faint, happy smile graced her lips. Despite her exhaustion, she looked utterly content.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang chuckled to himself. Last night was really wild. It wasn’t entirely his fault, though. They hadn’t seen each other for so long, and as they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. It was only natural for things to get a little crazy. Besides, Yang Ruotong was quite a formidable opponent in her own right.
Full of energy, Lin Kuang got out of bed, leaned down, and gently kissed her forehead. Even in her sleep, she seemed to feel it, as the smile on her face grew even wider.
