"There's no need for us, husband and wife, to flatter each other."
Leon laughed, by which time he was already dressed.
But Philippa was still adjusting her skirt.
"Leon, come here and help me unzip the back of my dress."
Philippa turned to look at Leon and said.
"okay."
Leon walked up behind Philippa and zipped up her skirt. Philippa's skin was very white, soft, and elastic; apart from her slightly lower body temperature, she was almost indistinguishable from a human girl.
"There's nothing wrong with being cool. It's exactly your unique charm. I can't imagine how refreshing it would be to hold you like this in the summer. It's like a magic weapon to beat the heat."
Leon hugged Philippa from behind and chuckled.
"Stop being so cheeky."
Philippa slapped away Leon's hand that was around her stomach, left his embrace, and sat down at the dressing table.
What kind of makeup do you think looks good on me?
Philippa asked.
"Anything is fine, I'll like it as long as it's you."
Leon answered.
"How perfunctory. You just took my body yesterday, and the novelty is already gone after a night of passion?"
Philippa said, feigning disappointment.
"I think it would be such a waste if you didn't go and act in a play."
Leon laughed from the side.
"I don't know anything about makeup. Talking to me about this is like casting pearls before swine."
"Alright," Leon explained.
"Fine, I won't argue with you anymore. I'm going to wash up first. Wait for me at the entrance of the main conference room later. I have something to tell you."
Philippa said that she got up and went to the bathroom.
"Why can't we say it now?"
Leon really doesn't like people keeping him in suspense.
But Philippa ignored her, and her maids came over and began to help her wash and put on makeup.
Philippa did not want maids to serve Leon, and Leon did not like male servants to serve him. Therefore, Leon had no servants to serve him and continued to take care of himself every day, just like in the Black Castle.
The only two maids who served Leon were Lucy and Annie, two very beautiful fox-girls from the orc race, but Leon had already arranged for them to leave the palace and go to Peace Town.
Sitting on the bench at the entrance of the main conference room,
Watching Philippa and the vampire elders enter the conference room, while he stood guard outside the door, Leon felt like a submissive wife waiting for her husband to come home from get off work.
In the eyes of the vampires, she was indeed Philippa's wife.
Because the vampire society is matriarchal, unlike the outside world, the status of men and women is reversed in matriarchal societies. It is equivalent to men marrying as "嫁" (jià), and women marrying as "娶" (qǔ).
After a while, the meeting room door opened.
However, only Kassalin came out; the others were still in the meeting.
Kassa Ling immediately spotted Leon sitting on a bench waiting. Leon, who also noticed her, smiled and nodded to her.
Leon simply gave a polite smile as a simple greeting; he had no intention of striking up a conversation with Kassalin. However, Kassalin walked directly toward Leon.
Could you move me to another spot?
The mature, straight-haired vampire woman, wearing black high heels, a work skirt, and black stockings, walked up to Leon.
"No problem."
Leon smiled amicably and then moved to the far left, while Kassa Ling sat on the far right, with a distance between them.
"Miss Kassalin, is there something you need to tell me?"
"Leon asked."
"Yes, Mr. Leon, I would like to ask you for a favor."
Kassa Ling said.
"help?"
Leon looked at Kassalin's face, then, as if he had thought of something, said, "That unkempt, strange man who caused trouble at my wedding, could he be the wandering poet who abandoned Miss Kassalin three hundred years ago?"
"Yes, that's him."
Kassa Ling said.
"His name is Klein. Three hundred years ago, he was a strategist who followed King Hoyle I in rebellion to overthrow the former empire. At that time, I was involved in a family dispute and was hunted down by a powerful vampire family. I was forced to flee to the outside world. During my escape, I met him, and that's how I had a series of wonderful encounters with him."
Kassa Ling said.
"So, he's still a former official of my grandfather, and a founding father of my Fchester Empire?"
Leon was quite interested in the man in the top hat.
"Yes, but after the Fchester Empire was established, he who said he would marry me suddenly disappeared."
Kasharin continued, “I’ve been searching for him for three hundred years. They all say that Hoyle I needed to kill those powerful founding fathers in order to consolidate his throne, and that Klein was secretly executed by Hoyle I and is already dead.”
“I think this is indeed very likely, because after Hoyle I became emperor, there was indeed a period of time when he frantically killed those founding fathers.”
At this point, Kasharin lowered her head sadly.
"But all the other founding fathers were convicted and their families were publicly confiscated and exterminated. Why did he disappear without a trace?"
"Therefore, I firmly believe that he escaped and survived Hoyle I's purge to consolidate his power. So I kept asking around for news of him. Three hundred years have passed in the blink of an eye, and I still have no news of him."
When Kashalin said this, most of her sadness disappeared, replaced by resentment and anger.
She continued, "Just when I thought he was really dead, just when I was about to accept that he was really dead, just when I was preparing to tell myself that it was time to let him go completely, he suddenly appeared again! He appeared naked right in front of me!"
"Um……"
Leon paused for a moment, then said, "That scumbag deserves to die!"
You think so too, right?
"Yes, since you're still alive, it's truly despicable that you've waited for three hundred years."
Leon continued, "I understand, Miss Kassalin. I will help you, but only after I have resolved the current internal strife in the Fchester Empire. I will then send someone to arrest Klein and inform you. Don't worry, he definitely won't be able to escape."
"Then I'll leave it to you, Your Majesty Leon."
Kassalin stood up and bowed, saying, "I have nothing to offer you in return, but if you need my help in the future, I will lend you a hand without violating the interests of the vampire clan."
"I don't need your repayment. What I hate most in my life is scumbags. Punishing scumbags is everyone's responsibility!"
Leon laughed.
"Hey, someone who keeps saying they can't stand scumbags, but then they're making promises to other pretty girls. Philippa will be heartbroken if you keep doing this."
Sofia walked out of the meeting room and bumped into Leon and Kassalin.
"I'll take my leave now."
Kassalin merely glanced at Sophia indifferently, without offering any explanation, then gestured to Leon before leaving.
"Eavesdropping on other people's conversations is not a good thing."
Leon looked at Sophia and said.
Chapter 41 I know, I can't compare to her.
"I was just passing by, and you were talking in a public area. How did that turn into me eavesdropping?"
Sofia laughed and retorted.
"I don't want to waste my energy reasoning with women, especially women with big breasts."
Leon turned his head to the side and replied.
"Huh, the young king of the human empire is so petty."
Sofia walked up to Leon. "Don't wait any longer. Philippa has too much to do right now. She asked me to take you there."
"Where?"
Leon was puzzled.
"She didn't tell you?"
"No, she said she would tell me after her morning meeting."
"Alright, it's nothing really. We just captured a strange king-level vampire, but she's a vampire who was assimilated by Miss Shalin. Her predecessor was supposed to be a man from the Fchester Empire. I wonder if she was a spy planted in our vampire clan by your former king of Fchester. We'd like you to come and claim her."
Sofia explained.
“I see. But I don’t know if she is a spy or not, because the late king was a dictator. No one could question the people and things he arranged. So I don’t have a list of spies sent out by the late king, let alone a method of identification.”
Leon expressed his regret.
"Alright, this guy calls himself Jack the Knight King Under the Moonlight."
Sofia said.
"Jack?"
"Yes, he is skilled in the martial arts of your Royal Knights of Guberlan."
"Oh, I see. Then please take me to see him quickly. I might know who he is."
Leon stood up and urged him on.
"Could this really be one of your spies?"
Sofia, seeing Leon suddenly become interested, looked on with suspicion, but still walked ahead to lead the way for him.
"He's not a spy, he's a wanted criminal of the empire."
Leon answered.
The royal palace dungeon.
Like most prisons.
Upon entering, Leon felt a damp and cold atmosphere.
Sofia led the way, guiding Leon through several checkpoints until they arrived at a steel gate.
The steel door opened, revealing a tall woman suspended in shackles on a rack. Her head hung down, her long, disheveled hair obscuring her face, cascading like a waterfall, making her look like a female ghost.
Hearing the door open and the shackles clatter, the woman swayed in mid-air before raising her head.
She spotted Leon standing next to Sofia immediately. Her gaze remained fixed on Leon from then on.
"Jack, it's so frustrating that I couldn't catch you. Turns out you were hiding in the Thorn Forest."
Leon sneered and walked up to Jack.
"Leon? How did you find your way here? Why aren't you dead yet?"
Jack looked at Leon in disbelief; he had witnessed the powerful monster grab Leon as he fled.
"I was lucky; I wasn't meant to die."
Leon sighed. "But what about you? How did you end up looking like this?"
"Heh, I'd love to."
Jack laughed, "Leon, now that you're here, hurry up and get me out of here."
Why should I get rid of you?
“Leon, you’ve fallen so low that you have to flee to vampires. This only proves that Prince Leon has won. I am someone sent by Prince Leon to infiltrate this place. If you protect me and get me out, I can put in a good word for you with Leon. Maybe you can go back to Guberlan and continue your wealthy life.”
Jack said.
His words made Sofia, who was standing to the side, laugh.
