Chapter 21: On the Road
Chapter 21: On the Road
"What's wrong, Loila?" Luna looked at the girl in front of her curiously; her hesitant appearance seemed a little strange to her.
"N-nothing..." Royla didn't want Luna to know that she was thinking about whether to give Newt an Avada Kedavra...
He was undoubtedly Lord Grindelwald's enemy, and had repeatedly thwarted the Lord's plans... In fact, according to Lady Vader, she wished she could torture Newt with the Cruciatus Curse for an hour and then whip his corpse with the Avada Kedavra Curse for an hour...
As a loyal follower of Lord Grindelwald, I should indeed uphold Lady Vader's wishes... but alas...
Is it really that bad to kill someone on the first date with Miss Lovegood?
Besides, Royla has never killed anyone before... Wouldn't it be better to torture her with the Cruciatus Curse first?
But it doesn't seem like anyone would use the Cruciatus Curse on their first outing... Besides, Miss Lovegood seems to have a good relationship with Newt.
This is really frustrating...
"Really nothing?" Luna asked, tilting her head. "I feel like Loira seems to have something on her mind..."
Miss Lovegood is so perceptive, and she even calls me Loila directly... Loila pursed her lips, feeling a little embarrassed.
No one except her parents has ever called her that.
"No...it's really nothing...Miss Lovegood..."
"Why do you call me Miss Lovegood?" Luna pursed her lips, reached out and pinched Loira's pointed ears, laughing as the girl squealed. "Don't friends just call each other by their first names?"
"Friend... ah..." Loila took a few steps back to avoid Luna's hand: "Am I... friends with Miss Lovegood?"
"Of course," Luna said, a slight smile playing on her lips as she walked ahead. "Aren't we going to visit Mr. Scamander together?"
"Only friends would do that."
"Oh... I see..." Loila felt a little excited; she had actually made a second friend so quickly...
"Actually, I don't know her very well either," Luna said with a shrug. "After all, Loila was my first friend."
"Ah... of course, excluding Father and the Curved-Horned Snoring Beast we haven't encountered yet."
So I have to wait in line behind the Curved-Horned Snoring Beast...?
Even so, Loila was still very happy, even though her second friend always liked to pinch her ears and hair.
But as for being called Luna or something... she felt she still needed to work on it.
"Loira's hair is so beautiful," Luna said, taking a quick step forward before squatting down by the roadside.
"Really...really?" Loila asked instinctively.
"Loila, come quick... there are grasshoppers here... they're a sign that the nymphs are about to appear!"
"A grasshopper...a grasshopper?"
"Ah...we need to hurry! The slugs are very unfriendly, even if we have the Butterbeer necklace..." Luna said, quickening her pace.
"Ah... okay!" Loila felt a little out of touch with Luna's pace. Was it because she didn't interact with people enough?
She clenched her fists, determined to communicate more with others, not only to make more friends but also to contribute to Lord Grindelwald's greatness...
Huh? Where's Miss Lovegood?
Ah... I don't know when she ran to a stream by the roadside and filled a bottle with water.
"Mr. Scamander will really need these clear streams," Luna whispered as she filled a container with water. "You might need this water too."
"Why...why?" Loila asked, pursing her lips.
"Of course, it's to wash off the dirt on you," Luna said with a smile, looking at Loila's clean new robe.
"Dirty stuff..." Loila didn't quite understand what Miss Lovegood was saying. Sometimes she would suddenly say things that sounded very strange.
This made Loila feel that this eleven-year-old girl seemed somewhat special.
However, Luna didn't seem to have any intention of explaining, or perhaps it was just a joke she made casually. She pinched the cap shut and stuffed the bottle into the strange little bag she was carrying.
"I made this myself using the airship." She seemed to notice Loira's curious gaze: "Would you like one too?"
"Ah...no need, no need." Loila quickly shook her head, pinching the necklace she was wearing, and said, "This is enough for me."
This was a necklace Luna had given her before, made from a butterbeer stopper. Loila had thought for a long time about whether to wash it, but she felt that washing it would probably remove the fragrant butterbeer smell.
"It suits you perfectly." Luna smiled and nodded, then abruptly changed the subject: "By the way, I saw you in Diagon Alley yesterday."
"You seem to be walking with Director Scrinker."
"Huh?" Loila was stunned for a moment and quickly said, "That...that's not me...I don't know him either..."
"So that's you." Luna looked intently at Loira. "You're still wearing a silver mask, aren't you?"
She smiled gently at Loila, who was stunned with surprise, and continued in that almost singing voice, "I suggest you stay away from Mr. Scrimgeour and the Aurors."
"Because Mr. Scrimgeour is actually a vampire..." Luna said in a low voice, "and the Aurors are always plotting against a notorious ailment."
Vampires and bad teeth?
Mr. Scrimgeour does seem to resemble a vampire... and the Aurors are definitely not good people...
Wait, none of that matters! How did Miss Lovegood recognize it as mine? Even Ms. Vida didn't recognize it...
"Of course I can recognize you!" Luna seemed to have guessed Loira's thoughts, and she skipped ahead. "How could I not recognize my own friend?"
So it's because Miss Lovegood and I are friends?
But... if Miss Lovegood still recognizes her when she gets to Hogwarts... Loira couldn't help but cover her ears...
She felt that if Luna greeted her during class... she would definitely faint on the spot...
Just as she was thinking this, Luna stopped walking without realizing it.
"We've arrived, Loila," she said, pointing to the small house in front of her.
"This is Mr. Scamander's house," she said, stepping slightly in front of Loila. "I heard from my father that Mr. Scamander used to keep harassing flies, so you'd better keep your necklace safe."
"Ah...okay..." Loila pursed her lips, a sudden fear creeping into her heart. It wasn't because she was bothering Mang, but because she was about to meet one of Lord Grindelwald's enemies...
Dumbledore is already that scary... Newt... must be scary too, right?
