Chapter 138 Nicolas Flamel
"So—would you like to have lunch before you leave?" Tina looked gently at the two who came out of the box. She saw Nagini and Loila's slightly red eyes but said nothing.
"No—no need—" Loila forced a smile, not just because she was shy, but also because she didn't have much of an appetite.
The topic of her conversation with Miss Nagini had just brought her some sadness.
She's going back to Hogwarts to study magic circles; maybe that will cheer her up.
"Is that so? — Alright then." Tina looked at him with concern.
She seemed to want to say something, but couldn't speak because of the relationship.
"Clatter".
Just then, there was a knock on the door, which startled everyone in the room.
Could it be Dumbledore?!
Loila instinctively gripped her wand, fearing that the guy might appear at the door.
"Mr. Scamander, it's me."
However, it was obvious that the voice coming from the doorway did not belong to Dumbledore—it was an extremely old and hoarse voice, like the off-key sound of a broken saxophone, which made Loira subconsciously feel a little scared.
Could it be a vampire or something?
Unlike Loila's worries, Newt's face immediately lit up with a smile. He quickly got up, walked to the door, and opened it.
"Mr. Lemaître!" His voice was slightly agitated. "You've come here because—"
"Is there any progress?"
Loila peeked out from the living room and saw Newt excitedly grabbing the hand of an old man who looked like a skeleton and shaking him up and down.
"Cough cough cough—be gentle—be gentle, Newt!" the old man known as Flamel coughed. "My bones are going to break!"
"I'm sorry—I'm sorry—"
Looking at the two of them, Roy's lips twitched slightly—who are these people?
"He is Mr. Nicolas Flamel," Tina said slowly. "He is a friend of Newt and Dumbledore."
"Ah—" So he's Lord Grindelwald's enemy too—"
Wait a minute—Niccolò Flamel?
Loila suddenly remembered something and blurted out, "Is it that... that Nicolas Flamel who created the Philosopher's Stone?"
He was the most famous alchemist in the magical world, and he was even introduced in Durmstrang's history of magic classes, although, of course, he was already dead in the textbooks.
But now—though he wasn't in good condition, he was indeed still alive—Roy looked at his sunken eye sockets and suddenly began to wonder if he had turned into some kind of skeleton or zombie—
"Yes, it's him." Tina, unaware of Loira's thoughts, nodded gently and said, "It seems his research has made a breakthrough."
"That's great news."
"Research??" Loila muttered to herself as she watched Nicolas Flamel slowly walk into the living room and sit down.
"You must be—Miss Hamilton, right?" Nicolas Flamel nodded slightly as he looked at Loila, his cloudy eyes giving her a thoughtful glance.
"You—how do you know me too?" Loila was a little scared when he suddenly looked at her like that, so she shrank back and hid next to Miss Nagini, who had been silent all along.
The Newt family living room was bustling with activity. Not only were the Scamanders and their family there, along with a group of Nifflers, a cursed orc, a half-Veep, and a half-skeleton—
Hmm, he must be a hybrid skeleton, right?
"I've heard Albus mention you," Nicolas Flamel said softly. "He said you're a very powerful wizard."
"No—no!" Loila shook her head decisively. Why does Dumbledore keep saying I'm amazing? Does he really like to flatter me to death?
"Albus's opinion is not wrong," Nicolas Flamel said, looking at Nagini standing in front of Loira.
"Miss Nagini, it's been a long time—you don't seem to have changed much."
"You too, Mr. Nicolas Flamel." Nagini seemed to only then come to her senses, and she nodded gently, saying, "Nothing has changed from sixty years ago."
"Hahahahahahahaha cough cough cough—" Nicolas Flamel started coughing violently as he laughed, and Loila quickly gripped her wand tightly.
If he really turns into a skeleton, I need to protect everyone except Newt as soon as possible.
Fortunately, this was probably just unnecessary worry, as Nicolas Flamel recovered after drinking a glass of water that Tina handed him.
"Time really flies—" he said slowly, putting down his cup. "Although Miss Nagini is still beautiful."
"You're joking," Nagini said politely, though it was clear she didn't seem to know Nicolas Flamel very well.
Nicolas Flamel was not surprised. He nodded slightly and took a crumpled piece of parchment from his pocket and placed it on the table.
"I'm not here today to—catch up," he said, nodding to Newt. "I have indeed made some progress."
"Some progress in treating cursed blood orcs."
"What?!" Nagini exclaimed as Loila covered her mouth in shock.
In the next instant, she rushed to Nicolas Flamel's side and grabbed his shoulder: "You—you're not kidding, are you?"
"No—ah—" Nicolas Flamel screamed as his shoulder cracked, which brought Nagini back to his senses and he quickly released his grip.
"I'm sorry—I'm sorry, Mr. Nicolas Flamel."
"It's nothing—" Nicolas Flamel waved his hand weakly, "It's normal to be excited—"
"after all----"
After all, no one has ever been able to cure a cursed blood orc.
Loila had read all the books in the Hogwarts library but had not found a cure. Although the library did not contain all the books in the wizarding world, such as magic circles, this still made Loila lose hope of curing the curse.
And now, Mr. Nicolas Flamel, who seems to have crawled out of some graveyard, actually knows how to cure the cursed blood beastmen—truly a genius who discovered the Philosopher's Stone!
Loila couldn't hide her excitement as she looked at Nagini. This meant that Miss Nagini was saved and would no longer have to live as a cursed blood beastman.
This was undoubtedly good news for her—which is why she stood helplessly in front of Nicolas Flamel, who had been calm and silent all along, now looking like a child.
It seems he went from being Professor Snape to Mr. Lockhart.
"However, the method is a bit difficult." Nicolas Flamel coughed, which calmed everyone down a bit.
"What kind of materials are needed?" Newt asked after thinking for a moment.
"No." Nicolas Flamel shook his head slightly. "If it's just a matter of needing materials—then we can always find them."
He then unfolded the parchment, allowing everyone to see its contents.
Loila also curiously peeked out to look—
Wait a minute—what is this thing?!
