Chapter 41 Harry Potter
Chapter 41 Harry Potter
He won over Narcissa Malfoy with his snacks, leaving the notoriously picky and sharp-tongued food critic speechless. Lucius Malfoy had no choice but to retract his earlier statement and invite him to his home!
Lucas McGregor, the young wizard's name, and his "77" snack stand were instantly remembered by the wizards present.
"That's fantastic, Lucas!" Harry shouted admiringly, his hands clapping until they were red.
Lucas nodded, thinking that if Malfoy meant it sincerely, then this family, though arrogant, still had some manners.
"Thank you, Mr. Malfoy. I hope there will be an opportunity in the future."
Lucius smiled slightly: "Well then, we have other matters to attend to, so we'll take our leave first. Until we meet again."
He took Narcissa and pulled Draco away.
Many cheers erupted. Before Lucas could speak, the fat witch hugged him tightly: "Great, child! You did it! You really did it!"
"Thank you all for your help," Lucas said with a smile, shaking hands with the skinny wizard. "I was worried that Mrs. Malfoy might renege on her promise in the end, but thanks to your support, I'm so grateful."
"Lucas, you're amazing! You've given us all a boost!" another stall owner said.
More wizards came to Lucas's side and shook hands with the red-haired boy.
Lucas noticed that most of these wizards were dressed plainly and had very excited expressions on their faces.
"Your cooking skills were so impressive that they won over Mrs. Malfoy!"
"Malfoy has always been so arrogant towards us, it's unbelievable that he's backing down today! Kid, let me buy you a drink!"
"Mike! He's only a few years old, he can't drink! Come on, darling, make me a serving too, and see what kind of delicious food could leave Mrs. Malfoy speechless..."
In the blink of an eye, Lucas was receiving the same treatment as Harry, while Hagrid and Harry stood to the side, clapping enthusiastically.
Lucas's "77" food stall became an instant hit. A large group of wizards began lining up to buy his churros, strawberry mint soup, and cucumber yogurt cold soup.
"Lucas, thank you," Harry said sincerely. He knew that Lucas had been drawn into the conflict with the Malfoys because of him and Hagrid. It was the first time he had ever discovered that someone his age was willing to lend a helping hand when he suffered injustice, and the first time he had ever experienced the feeling of being helped out of kindness.
He was eager to repay Lucas, and remembering that Lucas had said he had no money and that he was setting up a stall to make money, Harry felt an irresistible urge to use the huge pile of Galleons in his pocket.
He grabbed a large handful of Galleons and handed them to Lucas: "Please give me one."
Lucas stared, dumbfounded. Goodness, no wonder he's a celebrity, so rich! But why is Harry dressed so shabbily? Is he a cross-dresser?
He forcefully pulled his gaze away from the handful of gold coins in Harry's hand, and chuckled as he tapped the sign: "Although I'm short of money, I can't do things like this. Prices are clearly marked, and there's no cheating the young or old."
Harry scratched his messy hair. "Uh, then give me fifty—no, a hundred!"
"Harry," Lucas said helplessly, looking at the wealthy man, "this is my first time setting up a stall today, and I only prepared fifty or sixty portions of ingredients. Look at the long line behind you, I can't sell to you like this..."
Seeing Harry holding the Galleon with a somewhat embarrassed expression, Lucas smiled and said, "However, there is something I'd like to ask you for help with."
He took out a blackboard and wrote on it in exaggerated handwriting: "Harry Potter highly recommends!" and then handed it to Harry.
"Could you please sign this, Harry?"
For the first time, Harry realized that his fame was something useful.
He tried hard to make his signature look nicer, but the more he wrote, the worse it got, and it ended up looking crooked and messy. However, Lucas didn't care and hung it up next to the sign with satisfaction.
"Here you go, Harry, two servings. One for you, and the other for our friend Hagrid."
Hagrid paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, nearly slapping Lucas under the cart.
"Lucas, you're a good boy. You'll be a top Hogwarts student. And Harry, you will be too."
Harry and Hagrid both raved about the churros that burst in their mouths, and the strawberry mint soup and cucumber yogurt soup that slid down their throats.
Harry wolfed down his portion, nearly swallowing his own finger in the process.
Lucas handed over another serving, watching him devour it in a flash, and couldn't help but be surprised. Harry is so famous and rich, how come he's malnourished, and right now he looks...like a starving ghost reincarnated?
"Harry? Uh, what do you usually eat?"
"Bread slices, bacon, smoked meat... but my portion is always small, and with Dudley around, I can't eat a proper meal." Harry swallowed the last mouthful of strawberry mint soup and mumbled, "It's so delicious, Lucas! It's the best thing I've ever eaten!"
"Oh, right, you just said there was one last ingredient in the soup that Malfoy didn't taste. What was it?"
Lucas laughed: "I added a small glass of brandy to the whole pot of strawberry and mint soup. It was a whim, but it worked well."
The customers behind Harry had already surged forward, and Lucas didn't have time to chat with him anymore.
"Thanks again, Harry!" Lucas tapped the blackboard that read "Harry Potter Highly Recommends," waved to Harry through the crowd of customers, and said, "How's the taste? If you want to buy anything else, go look around somewhere else. I'll save you another one!"
......
As they turned the corner, Lucius's face darkened completely, while Draco, his face flushed, whispered, "Father, why are you doing this? Do you really want to invite a filthy lump of mud to be planted in our manor—"
"Shut up, Draco!" Lucius snapped. "You still have a lot to learn!"
"When we're certain of failure, have you forgotten what to do? We need to think about how to gracefully extricate ourselves, or even turn the tables!"
Narcissa gazed at her husband with adoration: "Draco, your father is right. With that gesture, the Malfoy family's reputation and manners won't be damaged; in fact, they'll be seen as fair and courteous..."
Draco nodded, seemingly understanding, but was still unwilling to give up: "So, are we just going to let this guy run rampant like this?"
Lucius scoffed, "Let it go? Ha, the Malfoy family's authority cannot be challenged. But to punish him, we don't even need to lift a finger. Tomorrow, his business will be finished."
