Chapter 2051 - 2049: Great Brightness Mantra of Six Characters (Part 2)

Good man, just as in the Great Shilisha Forest, I can count every leaf. Good man, if someone recites this Six-character Great Brightness Mantra once, the merits obtained are innumerable, beyond my ability to quantify. Good man, just as the places inhabited on the Four Great Continents are men, women, boys, and virgins, all achieve the position of Seventh Ground Bodhisattva. The merit of these bodhisattvas is no different from the merit obtained by reciting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra once. Good man, just as aside from the twelve-month year, encountering a leap year with thirteen months. Using the additional leap month, counted as a year, completes a heavenly kalpa. During the day and night, it rains heavily. Good man, thus I can count each individual drop. If someone recites this Six-character Great Brightness Dharani once, the merit is far greater than that. What do you think? Good man, just as a billion Tathagata are in one place. They endure a heavenly kalpa using clothing, food, seats, bedding, along with medicine and supplies, various offerings. They cannot count to the end the merits of the Six-character Great Brightness alone, not just me now in this world. I arise from meditation, unimaginable. Good man, this profound method increases practices and wisdom, all aspects are aligned. Fold for detailed explanationThe true holder of the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra obtains the following worldly benefits: 1) Attains all blessings, longevity, and other freedoms. 2) Gains endless eloquence. 3) Possesses incomparable mighty power. 4) Ninety-nine Ganges River sands worth of Tathagata, dust-like number of Bodhisattvas, thirty-two celestial sons gather; Four Great Heavenly Kings with Four Directions Protectors, numerous Dragon Kings, and Yaksha Divine protect and bless this person, transforming all evil events, making all affairs auspicious. 5) Eliminates all worldly disasters like earth, water, fire, wind. 6) Removes all illnesses, extends life. 7) Dispels all harm from ghostly and demonic creatures. 8) Ancestors across generations attain rebirth. 9) Seven generations of descendants also benefit. 10) If someone wears the Great Secret Mantra Six-character Mantra on their body, this body becomes a Vajra Body, like a relic tower, and becomes a member of the World-Honored One’s species.

If one holds the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra with infinite merit, even the Buddhas cannot fully express it, including some of its benefits: 1. The holder’s physical illnesses and obstacles will be purified. The verbal misconduct will be purified, planting the seed of exquisite sound. All the ignorance and stupidity of thoughts will be purified, receiving the blessings of Buddha and Bodhisattva wisdom. 2. If the holder practices diligently, they can transform their ordinary body, speech, and mind into the Vajra body, speech, and mind of Buddha and Bodhisattva, and even produce shariputra from the flesh. 3. Even if the holder only recites the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra once, they can acquire infinite wisdom, ultimately rise in compassion and Perfect the Six Perfections. Furthermore, they will become a Turn Wheel Saint King, reaching an irreversible Bodhisattva Realm until enlightenment. 4. Any person or non-person who sees, hears, remembers, touches the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, they instantly plant the cause to become Buddha and Bodhisattva. Four: Author: Khenpo Yixie Pengcuo reciting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra truly has inconceivable merits.

"If one holds the Holy Guanyin Mantra, they can obtain wealth, food, and other uses, avoid encounters with enemies, infections, poisons, weapons, prison, and untimely death, thus attaining liberation from them."

"If food and drink are poisoned, sincerely reciting the Great Compassionate Guanyin Mantra transforms consuming this into excellent divine food."

"If this mantra is recited, it is watched over by a thousand eyes, protected by a thousand hands. If empowered into water, whoever drinks this water will have their karmic obstacles purified. Whoever hears this mantra or is touched by the sound of the mantra carried by the wind, also can purify karmic obstacles."

"Whoever recites or contemplates ’om mani padme hum’, can avoid all harm by illness, and liberate from it, purifying all karma, obtaining long life, and increasing wealth and enjoyment."

"If reciting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, blessings and virtues are complete. When reciting this mantra, ninety-one Ganges River sands’ worth of Buddha personally arrives, dust-like Bodhisattvas also personally arrive, and heavens, dragons, Jiu Pan Tu, Four Great Heavenly Kings, etc. personally arrive and protect."

Within this person’s body, all sentient beings can gain an irreversible Bodhisattva position. If wearing this Bright Mantra, then becoming Vajra Body, becoming a relic tower, this logic is known. If reciting this Bright Mantra, one gathers infinite pure compassion, compassion, and wisdom. If daily reciting this Bright Mantra, one will fulfill the Six Perfections, and attain the Turn Wheel King’s position, presently supreme enlightenment and achieving Buddha Fruit. Even by merely touching this Bright Mantra, one becomes the last Bodhisattva. Whether male, female, boy, virgin, bird, or beast, merely seeing this Bright Mantra, they become the last Bodhisattva."

"The one who hears this Guanyin mantra keeping it concealed sentient beings, if recited by their side in animal ears, they will attain liberation from evil paths and be born in the Western Pure Land."

"If daily reciting one thousand eight hundred times of the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, purifies all karmic sins and obstacles, and liberates from illness, demon, and other adverse conditions."

"If reciting om mani padme hum, one will not fall into the three evil paths, nor catch the leprosy, yellow pustule skin diseases, boils, pulmonary emphysema, and all illnesses caused by karmic energy, liberating from them, able to recall all previous births, and at life’s end attain rebirth in the Pure Land."

"Good man, the dust of the earth can be counted, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted; the drops of water in the ocean can be counted, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted. Good man, imagine a room with a length and width of one hundred yojanas each and a height of five hundred yojanas, filled with sesame seeds. At its door is an Immortal who takes out one seed every hundred kalpas. By the time the sesame seeds are exhausted, it would be impossible to count the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra once.

Good man, in the Four Great Continents, all grains like barley, peas, wheat, etc. can be counted, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted.

Good man, just as in Jambudvipa, the eleven great rivers such as the Ganges and their five hundred tributaries continuously flow into the ocean day and night, the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra increases similarly.

The drops of water in such great rivers can be counted, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be surpassed. Good man, the hairs of all animals like horses, elephants, deer of the mountains, lions, tigers, rabbits, and all other beasts in the world can be counted, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted.

Good man, suppose there is a Vajra Iron Mountain with a height of ninety-nine thousand yojanas, a width of one million and four thousand yojanas, and a length of ten million yojanas. At its side is an Immortal who, using a cloth of ghasi ghasi, grinds this mountain once every hundred kalpas. By the time the mountain is exhausted, the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted. Good man, suppose there is a great sea with a depth of eighty-four thousand yojanas, as vast as the large size circled by Iron Mountain, the drops of water as small as one-hundredth of a strand of hair can be counted, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted. Good man, suppose the leaves in a sigarakka tree garden can be counted one by one, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted.

Good man, suppose all the men, women, young men, and virgins in the Four Great Continents are all seventh-stage Bodhisattvas, their merit cannot compare to the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra. Good man, within the twelve months of a year or thirteen months in a leap year, the raindrops falling incessantly day and night can be counted, but the accumulation of merit from chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra cannot be counted.

No need to speak further, within ten million years, the merit of offering fine clothes and other offerings to me and other good beings cannot compare to the accumulation of merit from the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, let alone the merit of offering to me alone?"

"Just a single recitation, a contemplation (remembrance), or a physical touch of ’Om Mani Padme Hum’ can purify the Five Uninterruptible Sins, near-Five Uninterruptible Sins, and all such obstacles, freeing one from the pain of the three deeds of body, speech, and mind after liberation from the three evil realms of the Eight Unfavorable Circumstances.

And freeing from all non-humans such as beasts, Rakshasas, and all diseases and fears, personally witnessing the Holy Venerable’s physical form manifested from realizing the Dharma Body."

Saint Avalokiteshvara once manifested as Great Dharma King Songzan Gampo in the Saha World. By chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, one can repel and extinguish the harm of worldly evil demons.

Within the (Om Mani Padme Hum), the Om syllable can repel and extinguish the harm of Heavenly Demons; the Ma syllable can repel and extinguish the harm of Ghost Women; the Ni syllable can repel and extinguish the harm of Evil Kings; the Pad syllable can repel and extinguish the harm of Earth Gods; the Me syllable can repel and extinguish the harm of Demons and Death Demons; the Hum syllable can repel and extinguish the harm of Jiu Pan Tu and Luo Hou. By chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, one can eliminate 404 types of diseases; the Om syllable can eliminate diseases caused by the four common factors; the Ma syllable can eliminate fevers; the Ni syllable can eliminate wind diseases; the Pad syllable can eliminate phlegm diseases; the Me syllable can eliminate cold diseases; the Hum syllable can eliminate bile diseases; in this way, all diseases can be dispelled. By chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, one can purify the karmic obstacles of the Six Paths, dispelling their pains. The Om syllable purifies the karmic obstacles of Heaven, dispelling its death-fall pains; the Ma syllable purifies the karmic obstacles of Non-heaven, dispelling its war pains; the Ni syllable purifies the karmic obstacles of humans, dispelling the pains of birth, aging, sickness, and death; the Pad syllable purifies the karmic obstacles of other beings, dispelling their servitude pains; the Me syllable purifies the karmic obstacles of hungry ghosts, dispelling their ** pains; the Hum syllable purifies the karmic obstacles of Hell, dispelling cold and heat pains. By chanting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra, one can close the doors of rebirth in the six destinies; the Om syllable eliminates the karmic power of rebirth by arrogance to close the door of rebirth in Heaven; the Ma syllable eliminates the karmic power of rebirth by jealousy to close the door of rebirth in Non-heaven; the Ni syllable eliminates the karmic power of rebirth by greed to close the door of rebirth among humans; the Pad syllable eliminates the karmic power of rebirth by ignorance to close the door of rebirth among other beings; the Me syllable eliminates the karmic power of rebirth by stinginess to close the door of rebirth among hungry ghosts; the Hum syllable eliminates the karmic power of rebirth by anger to close the door of rebirth in Hell.

Reciting this Great Brightness Mantra King can purify all non-virtuous karmic actions created by the body, speech, and mind such as the Ten Unwholesome Acts, the Five Uninterruptible Sins, and their habitual tendencies. The Om syllable purifies bodily obstacles; the Ma syllable purifies speech obstacles; the Ni syllable purifies mental obstacles; the Pad syllable purifies afflictive obstacles; the Me syllable purifies habitual obstacles; the Hum syllable purifies cognitive obstacles. Reciting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra can purify and restore the fundamental and derivative vows of the Secret Vehicle that have been violated; the Om syllable restores the vow of the body; the Ma syllable restores the vow of speech; the Ni syllable restores the vow of mind; the Pad syllable restores the fundamental vow; the Me syllable restores derivative vows; the Hum syllable restores all vows. Furthermore, all the causes of unwholesome actions arise from the Five Poison Afflictions. Reciting the Six-character Great Brightness Mantra can subdue and extinguish all discriminative thoughts of the Five Poison Afflictions; the Om syllable extinguishes ignorance; the Ma syllable extinguishes anger; (to be continued.
