He tapped his fingers rapidly on the screen, as if he were operating something.
No one noticed this detail; everyone's attention was firmly drawn to the deadly threat overhead and at the end of the corridor.
Just as their figures disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
The licker above the vent suddenly retracted its long tongue.
Next second,
Its massive body squeezed out of the opening with the agility of a gecko and silently clung to the ceiling.
In the darkness at the end of the corridor, three Lickers revealed their ferocious figures, moving with eerie steps as they rapidly approached.
Their target was Su Hui and his group, who had just escaped!
The stairwell is relatively narrow, but that also means that once caught up, it will be more difficult to dodge.
Danger is ever-present.
11. Upheaval and Collapse!
The five of them silently walked upstairs, trying their best to remain quiet even though their hearts were pounding like drums.
Su Hui was at the back, highly focused.
He kept a close eye on what was happening on the first floor, his mind racing.
Fighting head-on is suicide.
There were too many monsters, and their hearing was extremely acute.
The only way to survive is to use their hearing to distract them and then hide.

Chad was terrified by the sudden attack and almost instinctively fired at the Licker.

A piercing gunshot rang out in the dark corridor!
The bullet tore through the air and struck the Licker, splattering blood and momentarily halting its movements.
Taking advantage of the Licker's brief pause, Chad scrambled into the dormitory room, followed by the click of the door lock!
He locked himself inside!
This sudden turn of events caused Brad, who was right behind him, to change his expression drastically.
He watched helplessly as Chad hid in the room and locked the door, while the Licker, enraged by the gunshot, stood menacingly blocking the doorway!
Fear gripped Brad's heart in an instant.
He barely hesitated before abruptly shaking off the arm that was supporting Stacy!
"Chad! Open the door! Open the door now!"
Brad lunged at the door like a madman, pounding his fists against the thick wooden door, his voice distorted with fear.
"Let me in! Open the door!"
There was no response from inside the door.
Only the Lickers, drawn by the gunshot, let out low, threatening growls.
"what!"
Stacey was roughly thrown aside by Brad. Her already injured ankle throbbed with pain, and she lost her balance, falling back onto the cold ground.
Brad didn't even glance at her.
"Bang bang bang!"
He pounded on the door with his fists and his body.
"Chad! Open the door! Let me in! Fuck you, open the door now!"
His voice was distorted with fear, filled with despair and anger.
Inside the door, all was deathly silent.
Chad clearly wasn't going to open the door.
Stacy collapsed to the ground, overwhelmed by a wave of icy despair.
She looked at Brad, who had abandoned her, at the closed door, and at the Licker, which was becoming even more frenzied because of the gunshots and Brad's banging on the door, slowly approaching.
Fear made her tremble all over, and even her crying turned into a silent sob.
Her gaze passed over Brad and landed on Harley and Su Hui not far away.
Those beautiful eyes were filled with pleading and a last glimmer of hope.

The lickers were much faster than they had imagined.
It was shot and disturbed by noise, making it appear unusually agitated.
To make matters worse, the lickers downstairs were also completely drawn to the gunfire and commotion here.
"Screw rustle..."
A rapid, chilling crawling sound came from the direction of the stairwell!
There are at least two more!
They're coming up!
Su Hui's expression instantly turned extremely solemn.
There were obstacles blocking their way ahead and pursuers behind.
Chad's foolish actions pushed them into a complete dead end.
No more hesitation!
A cold glint flashed in Su Hui's eyes. He took out the phone he had prepared beforehand and his fingers flew across the screen.
Then, with a flick of his wrist, he slid the phone into the first dormitory room near the stairwell on the second-floor corridor, skimming along the floor!
Almost the instant the phone left my hand.
"go!"
Su Hui gave a low shout and suddenly grabbed Harley's wrist.
Harley didn't even have time to react before she felt a tremendous force pulling her forward involuntarily.
Target: the third floor!
The two turned and ran towards the stairwell leading to the third floor.
"Su Hui! Wait! Help..."
Brad seemed to realize something, turned around and saw Su Hui and Harley running away, and instinctively shouted.
But he only managed to utter half a sentence before his voice was interrupted by a commotion behind him.
"hiss--!"
The licker, enraged by Chad, had already pounced close!
Brad's shouts stopped abruptly, replaced by terrified curses and desperate screams.
"Get out of my way! Monster!"
"Chad! You son of a bitch! I'll never let you get away with this!"
"what--!"
Then came the terrifying sounds of heavy objects crashing, claws tearing flesh, and bones shattering.
There were also the excited and cruel roars of the lickers.
The second-floor corridor instantly transformed into a living hell.
Noise, curses, screams, roars, crashes...
The various sounds mingled together, like a symphony of death, echoing through the deathly silent dormitory building.
Su Hui did not turn around.
Time is running out,
He grabbed Harley's hand and rushed up to the third floor without stopping for a moment.
The third floor was dimmer than the second floor, and the smell of blood and that unique fishy odor in the air was even stronger.
Su Hui's gaze swept quickly across the corridor.
Instead of going deeper, he opened the door of a dormitory room he had previously checked.
The door is not locked.
He rushed into the room and locked the door from the inside.
He pulled Harley along and headed straight for the wooden wardrobe in the corner of the room.
"Go in."
Su Hui's voice was kept extremely low.
Harley's mind went blank. Everything that had just happened was like a nightmare. She was being dragged along by Su Hui almost instinctively.
Upon hearing the instruction, she instinctively crawled into the narrow wardrobe.
Su Hui followed closely behind and squeezed in as well.
The wardrobe space is very small.
