Chapter 222: The Rift Abyss and the First Encounter with the Fragment of Nothingness
Chapter 222: The Rift Abyss and the First Encounter with the Fragment of Nothingness
The woman's gaze was calm, yet carried an undeniable air of authority. She spoke slowly, her voice clear and composed: "I am the Dimension Explorer—Leza Vian. My mission is to monitor the stability of the multidimensional universe."
"Dimensional Explorer?" The Arbiter sneered. "An outdated title. You so-called explorers have long since faded from the stage of history."
Ignoring the Arbiter's taunts, Lessa looked directly at the Observer: "The power of the Void Core is spreading to other dimensions, and I have been ordered to seek support. If the spread of the rift cannot be controlled in time, a new crisis will sweep across the entire universe, including your dimension."
The observer frowned: "Has the crack already started spreading in other dimensions?"
Lessa nodded, a hint of worry in her eyes: "Not only that, new life forms have appeared in those cracks. They are not ordinary creatures, but beings formed from fragments of the Void Core. They have their own consciousness, and their goal is to devour all rules."
Lessa's words plunged both the Observer and the Arbiter into deep thought. While the crisis of fate had temporarily subsided, the power of the Void Core clearly hadn't truly dissipated. The spread of the rifts, and the new life forms created from the core fragments, were obviously the next threat that couldn't be ignored.
“We need to enter those cracks, find the source of the fragments, and seal it completely,” the observer said in a deep voice.
The adjudicator shook his head: "These cracks cannot be easily penetrated even by the blade of rules. Entering rashly will only complicate the situation further."
“So we need allies.” Lysa’s voice was calm and firm. “The Dimension Explorers and other members are trying to seal the rift, but we need more support. And you, as the guardians of this dimension, must take action.”
The observer looked at the adjudicator: "Will you join us?"
The Arbiter remained silent for a moment before finally saying, "As long as we can prevent the power of the Void Core from making a comeback, I will cooperate with you for the time being. But my goal remains to reshape the true order."
“The opportunity to reshape the order has passed,” Lysa said coldly. “Now, maintaining the status quo is the only way to survive.”
As the three discussed their strategy, a strong tremor emanated from the edge of the star chart once more. More fragments of destiny began to flicker, their trajectories gradually detaching from the center of the star chart and flying towards unknown dimensions.
An unease crept into the observer's eyes: "These fragments of fate are being drawn to the power of the rift... We must act immediately."
Lysa nodded, the spear in his hand emitting a blinding light: "I will guide you into the rift, but this will be an unprecedented trial. Prepare for the new challenge."
The observer and the adjudicator exchanged a glance and finally nodded: "For the sake of the balance of the universe, we have no other choice."
Deep within the rift, an unknown threat is quietly taking shape, and their exploration journey is about to begin.
At the center of the star chart, the light from the crack began to dim, but uneasy ripples emanated from its edges, as if summoning something. Lysa stood atop the star chart, the spear in his hand humming faintly, as if sensing an unknown threat.
“The rift is already unstable,” Lysa said in a deep voice, his gaze fixed on a corner of the star map. “If we don’t act quickly, it will collapse completely, dragging the rules of this dimension into nothingness.”
The observer nodded, his brow furrowed: "The crack did not form naturally; it is the result of the power of the void core eroding the rules. We must go deep into the crack and find its source."
“But the rifts connect to unknown dimensions,” the Arbiter said coldly, his scepter emitting a faint glow. “Their rules are completely different from our universe. If we enter rashly, even the power of the Blade of Rules might not be able to protect us.”
“Therefore we must rely on my weapon.” Lysa raised the spear in his hand, the tip of which gleamed with a purple-gold light. “It is one of the core weapons of the Dimension Explorers, specifically designed for traversing multidimensional space.”
“Okay.” The observer nodded. “Take us there.”
Lessa raised his spear high, and a vortex of purplish-gold light swirled, gathering the energy from the rift. As the light gradually spread, a distorted portal appeared at the edge of the rift, its interior shimmering with an unknown radiance.
“This is the entrance.” Lessa turned to the two of them. “Remember, once you enter the rift, your power will be limited, and the rules and order may completely fail.”
"Ineffective?" The Arbiter sneered. "Then what's the point of our power?"
“The significance lies in dealing with unknown threats,” the observer responded coldly. “Whether our power is limited or not, we must find the source of the fragments.”
The three stepped into the portal one after another, instantly swallowed by the vortex's power. The surrounding light rapidly dimmed, and the space became distorted and chaotic. Their bodies seemed to be torn apart and reassembled, each step filled with immense pressure.
When they finally passed through the whirlpool, the sight before them was breathtaking.
This is a completely unfamiliar world. The sky is a pitch-black void, occasionally punctuated by faint starlight. The ground is composed of a transparent crystal, within which flows silvery-white energy, as if it were some kind of strange life form. The distant horizon is cleaved open by countless enormous cracks, from which flow streams of energy, interwoven with black and silver, surge.
"This is... the core world of the rift?" the observer murmured, glancing around. "Its rules have been completely distorted."
"What's that?" the adjudicator suddenly pointed into the distance.
In their sight, a blurry shadow emerged from a massive crack. The shadow emitted a deep black light, vaguely resembling a human figure, but its outline constantly shifted, as if it might merge into the energy flow of the crack at any moment.
“The embodiment of the void fragments…” Lysa’s gaze sharpened. She gripped her spear tightly and said in a low voice, “It has already materialized here.”
The three slowly approached the avatar within the crack, the energy in the air becoming increasingly oppressive. The avatar seemed to sense their approach and suddenly turned its head; its "face" had no features, only a pitch-black abyss.
"Intruders..." The avatar's voice was deep and hollow, as if it came from the endless void, "You cannot stop the continuation of nothingness... Rules and order will belong to me..."
"Enough with the nonsense!" The Arbiter struck first, waving his scepter, and a blinding starlight shot straight towards his avatar.
