Chapter 2211 Operation Dreaded Winter -Part 3

the mong drug smugglers were already smiling when they heard about the demise that ress was about to bring to the southern kingdoms. while sure, they might not make as much money as they would as drug smugglers but with this mission, the smugglers knew that their efforts would be repaid with a fresh new start in ress.

in fact, all of the mong traitors were looking forward to this new start and that was not the entirety of the deal. they had been given the privilege to keep whatever spoils they had earnt as part of betraying mong for ress.nôv(el)b\\jnn

at first, most of them actually thought this was a prank, a joke of a deal until all of the current mong traitors saw first hand how ress had managed to fend off the beings from the skies. the armies descended from the gods themselves were killed right in front of their own eyes. the power they wielded was stronger than any forge could proceed.

this was proved further when the celestials came to invade mong as well since there were presences or 'essences' of ress in mong which they had managed to sniff out. kraft and the star foxes stood their ground along with the corruption they had made from the forbidden magic they had dabbled with.

not to mention, all of the star foxes were trained rifle mages as well and they handle the minions of the celestials without too much of a hassle which brought more than just a show for the mong traitors to see. air and artillery support was also given to mong despite the pressure they were facing within the city but to jin, it was just a nod to kraft that he was still watching out for his royal advisor even though the city was meant to be a disposable tool under his belt. however, the people who saw the might of ress immediately turned to worship the king as their almighty.

there was a multi layer propaganda plan to confuse the southern kingdoms. the first was to send requests of official delegations to the southern kingdoms to stop the zombie horde. the second was to publicly inform the southern kingdoms that there were demons coming from the southern seas. this caused various newspapers to show that ress was portrayed as a malicious serpent who had disguised the offer of military support for supposed warnings of the incoming demon horde as an invasion.

these newspapers enabled the deliberate spread of misinformation and the situation enabled rumours to be thrown around like hotcakes. from zombie hordes, demon hordes to sky armies come raining down to their doorstep. it was pretty obvious that the southern kingdoms did not have much information about ress's battle with the celestials and thus all of this was being dismissed as fake news.

even the most cautious of kings that were bordering the southern lines of ress had assumed that the city of ress was joking. this actually further reinforced that ress did not have the resources to survive in the north and the demons were pushing hard on them to force them south. so, all they did was to dig down further and their plans to invade ress became even more apparent.

not to mention, the spies that had returned from ress had indicated that the crystal mines which they hold dear were still active and abundant with resources. but due to the fact that ress was severely crippled by the celestial battle, they must have decided to attack downwards to get food.

needless to say, all of these were a bluff and ress was doing all fine and dandy. those spies had been brainwashed to the point that there was no magic sensed in them and their recreated memories were deemed real.

"they might be working on a wall, but their great walls had been abandoned and they seemed desperate to move south." one of the spies said in their report and that line alone might cause all the armies the southern kingdoms possessed to be brought to the north, leaving their south so naked that jin felt they might not even be wearing underwear to protect it.
