Chapter 2186 : Manor of Vishnu -Part 10

The War Boar's stampede and its magical 'light show' was the highlight of the forest in the night. It soon caught the attention of the Commando Mages who had been working their backs to clean up the mess they had made at the manor.

It did not take much for the Head Maid of the currently revamped team of butlers and maids to change their task on hand to prepare for the inevitability that was approaching their way.

Aside from the Manor's interior and their cleaning duties, the Commando Mages did not have the time to explore the exterior of the Manor to check if they had any other locations that missed out. But when they tried to open the front door, it was locked with a magical seal without their knowledge.

The Commando Mages attempted to mangle with the door but it was to no avail despite seeing the commotion that was happening at the Manor's forest right behind them. One of the butlers even tried to break the glass windows in an attempt to escape out of the Manor but it was fully packed with reinforcement magic that it was impossible to work with it until they had their magical powers back.

"Does that mean we are stuck in the Manor until they complete their task?" No.1 asked but No. 3 replied that it might have been possible that their current cleaning duty might have been tied to the locking of the Manor's doors.

More conjectures were formed but it did not help that they were not able to do anything at the moment due to the lack of tools as well as the restrictions that had been placed in about 95% of the Manor's interior.

"If there is nothing we can do, let's finish cleaning up the mess we made and find a way out." No.8 replied to their uneasiness until No.10 who was usually meek showed them a possible way out even though it might seem like going that route would be courting with death.

No.8 sighed knowing that going on would be fruitless as she could see the futility of this situation. "Let's just continue with our cleaning duties and hope that No.2 and No.7 can deal with the situation themselves. In the event that the completion of cleaning duties would be able to open the front doors, then we will split out accordingly as previously planned."

The rest of the Commando Mages nodded their heads in silence, with some in reluctance to do so while on the other hand, the duo hunters had their hands full with protecting their newly appointed assets.

As the leader of the War Boar who was mind controlled by No.2 continued to move through the forest with little impedance, No. 7 was desperately trying to keep the Shadow Predators at bay. They kept changing their shape and sizes which made it hard for her to have an actual strategy against them.

But compared to the time when they were aiming their barrel towards the War Boars, the herd noted that these humans despite their uncanny appearance in that particular portion of the forest, they temporarily entrusted their lives to them thus allowing them to sit on the backs of the large War Boars as they shoot the Shadow Predators to slow them down or kill them when opportunities presented itself.

However, as much as their efforts to repel them were made known to the War Boars, it did not discount the fact that they were overwhelmed in terms of numbers. Hence, the veteran War Boars would put themselves to the flanks of the herd to break trees that were larger than their size so that their herd could run through with as little resistance as possible.

This also helped to distract and reduce the possibility of the Shadow Predators using the environment to their advantage but such a handicap was considered minor to them. And despite the deaths of their comrades, the Shadow Predators were still going strong in their chase against the Herd and they were not willing to back down when they knew that this running would eventually wear the Herd down.

It was only a matter of time before the Shadow Predators would have their turn in changing the tide of this wild hunt.
