Chapter 532 The Legend Reappears
Chapter 532 The Legend Reappears
"Should we cut the chains?" Sasuke asked.
Naruto shook his head and said, "It's pointless. Even if we let go, he'll just do it again."
"So, are we just going to stay like this? Or you hold off the golem while we go take care of the masked man!"
Sasuke's tone was somewhat gritted, showing his genuine desire to kill the masked man, but Naruto just smiled at him.
"The legendary Ten-Tails needs the combined power of all the Tailed Beasts to be revived. Tailed Beasts are aggregates of chakra, so does needing all the Tailed Beasts mean needing a massive amount of chakra?"
Sasuke's expression changed; his eyes nearly widened, and for the first time, shock was written all over his face.
"Don't tell me you want to... What's the benefit of reviving the Ten-Tails? Do you think one person's chakra can fill the void left by nine tailed beasts?"
However, Naruto remained unhurried and said, "Aren't you curious that the Sage of Six Paths, who was once the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki, didn't realize the Eye of the Moon himself, but instead left guidance on the Eye of the Moon in the Uchiha's stone tablet? Doesn't that completely contradict his original intention of dividing and sealing the Ten-Tails?"
Sasuke is very clever; once he finds the crux of the problem, he can quickly come up with what Naruto wants him to think. However, this is not a reason for Naruto to torment himself.
"Even if there is a mastermind behind it all, as long as the Eye of the Moon's conspiracy is thwarted, no one in the ninja world will be able to carry out this plan again."
"As long as that thing exists, it will try every means to recreate the Eye of the Moon, and then it will wreak havoc on the ninja world once again. The way to lure it out is right in front of us, as long as the Ten-Tails really appears..."
"But how to appear is the biggest problem!" Sasuke was truly fed up with Naruto's generosity. He always put his own safety last, and everything else was more important than his life! Even if the person was already dead, even if Naruto really possessed that much chakra, the idea of a tailed beast becoming the source of the Ten-Tails' power... he just couldn't accept it!
Naruto wanted to say something more, but the battlefield wouldn't give them much time to exchange words. The other end of the chain moved; the light purple chain tightened abruptly, pulling Naruto's body forward. At the same time, more purple energy swirled around the gold. The monster, which only knew how to plunder, seemed to have discovered a power even more wondrous than the tailed beasts, revealing even greater greed.
Susanoo immediately swung his greatsword, not only severing the chains but also cutting through the drifting dust with his purple sword light, striking the golem's shoulder. The golem, however, seemed unfazed, even striding towards them. The severed chains did not disappear but instead reconnected naturally, still tightly entwined with the golden chains.
Sasuke stood in front, silently calling upon Kurama once more. This time, the two of them fought together. A golden fox appeared out of nowhere, quickly enveloped by the purple of Susanoo, a legend from the Warring States period reappearing. Naruto, protected by three layers of defense behind Sasuke, looked ready for a final, desperate battle.
Just then, spatial fluctuations reappeared, and a group of uninvited guests landed beside the Nine-Tailed Fox in full armor. Three of these four were wearing armor that was out of place in this era, and it was clear at a glance that they were not living people.
"Hmm? To find a junior who shares my thoughts, you have a good eye."
A red-armored ninja with Uchiha-style bristling hair made this comment as he landed. The long-haired black-haired ninja next to him, also wearing red armor, nodded seriously and exclaimed, "Sasuke is really great. His eyes might even be better than yours."
"I admit that Dark Light is indeed a very powerful move, but it consumes too much energy to use, so it's definitely not as good as my brother's ability!" The only ninja not wearing armor was dressed in traditional Uchiha combat attire, with a large red and white fan on his back, and was defending his brother indignantly.
"Is this the time to talk about this? The golem is charging this way, and the chain in its mouth is still attached to Naruto!" The only white-haired person among the group of black-haired people spoke up irritably, and it was clear that he was really anxious.
The four who landed were none other than the Sengoku Four, who had just finished their battle on the Fourth Battlefield. Tobirama had been nearby before, but hadn't approached because he knew Madara Uchiha hated him the most, and his approach might have the opposite effect on persuasion. However, Hashirama and Izuna's repeated attempts hadn't changed Madara's mind, so he no longer needed to avoid it and went directly over.
After all, Naruto told them not to stop him, so why not listen? They were all convinced by Naruto's smooth talk and had gotten used to entrusting the most difficult problems to him.
Since it was a free ride, Madara, though confused, didn't prick him into a pulp on the spot out of respect for Izuna and Hashirama, and instead came along. He knew Hashirama wasn't one to play dirty tricks, and with Hashirama around, Tobirama would have to keep his thoughts to himself even if he had them.
However, they did not expect that after landing at Naruto's coordinates, they would face such a scene.
"Oh? You've arrived. The timing is perfect." Naruto even had the mood to greet them, not at all like Sasuke who was on high alert, as if he wasn't the one being targeted by the Ten-Tails.
"What's going on now!" Tobirama thought Naruto was already an Edo Tensei and shouldn't be able to cause any more trouble, but he didn't expect this kid to be so capable of causing trouble!
"It's nothing, I told you not to be nervous." Naruto calmly deactivated his golden aura and suddenly plunged his right hand into his chest.
An indescribable pressure suddenly swept across the entire area; it was the physiological fear of facing absolute power, and the source of that power was a glimmer of light that Naruto pulled from his chest.
That was the "core" he condensed to use the Box of Elysium. It was originally embedded in his soul, but a single soul doesn't need two cores. Once he completely merged with his self in the Pure Land, this core became less important. Perfect, isn't the Ten-Tails' only need for energy? This sufficiently pure core was the best source of energy.
Whether or not it can be controlled depends on the Ten-Tails' own abilities.
While almost everyone was stunned by the sudden surge of immense energy, the purple chains greedily climbed towards that single point of bright light. Even as the chains were being eroded by the "core," they still tightened their grip on their "prey," rapidly retracting. Sasuke tried to stop them, but Naruto pulled him back. Looking back, he realized that Naruto was perfectly normal; losing the light that illuminated the entire sky seemed to have no effect on him.
"I already said it's nothing, why are you so nervous?"
