Chapter 85 Sword in the Lake
Chapter 85 Sword in the Lake
Chu Sheng immediately regretted what he said.
Arthur looked at her with a disappointed expression, but Amber smiled.
"What's a swimsuit?" she asked.
Chu Sheng was taken aback.
So there are no bikinis in this world after all!
"It's... the clothes you wear when you go into the water." Chu Sheng carefully chose his words, "Lightweight, close-fitting, and easy to move in."
Amber looked down at her long dress: "Is it more form-fitting than mine?"
Arthur coughed, and Chu Sheng immediately got back to the point: "I also feel something's off about this lake. Could there be water monkeys?"
Arthur walked to the lakeside and squatted down, holy light shining from her fingertips.
However, the holy light had barely entered the water and hadn't gone very far before it was completely swallowed up by the darkness at the bottom of the lake.
She stood up: "I'll go down and take a look."
Chu Sheng glanced at the armor she was wearing: "Are you sure?"
"Just take it off," Arthur blurted out.
Chu Sheng's eyes lit up, and Arthur's ahoge (cowlick) instantly stood up.
Amber stepped between the two: "I'll go. Underwater isn't your forte, but at least I can use the seaweed and plant roots to descend a certain distance."
"I'll go down too." Chu Sheng raised his hand. "That thing's target is probably me. If I don't go down, His Majesty might get nothing."
Arthur frowned: "Are you out of your mind?"
"No, I'm using it for fishing." Chu Sheng pointed to himself. "I'm confident, don't worry."
Amber didn't try to stop him; she simply reached out and grabbed his shoulder, turning him towards her.
Then she bent down and took off his outer robe.
She handed Chu Sheng's outer robe to Arthur, and then spurred the growth of several large aquatic plant leaves. The leaves automatically formed a thin membrane that wrapped around Chu Sheng, making him look like he was wearing a green bodysuit.
Chu Sheng complained, "Is this thing waterproof? And the color scheme is awful!"
"I think it looks pretty good, really cool." Amber tilted her head and looked it over, then blinked. "Don't leave my side, this leaf will help you stay underwater a little longer."
"That doesn't sound very safe."
Amber gently ruffled his hair: "If you're scared, just hold me tight."
Before Chu Sheng could respond, she had already reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist, pulling him into her embrace with a slight pull.
Arthur watched this scene, his lips moving slightly: "I'll keep watch on the shore. If there's any change in the lake's surface, I'll go down immediately."
Chu Sheng laboriously turned his head out of the large airbag and gave her a thumbs-up: "Reliable!"
Arthur glared at him: "Don't do anything reckless."
"Don't worry, when have I ever done anything reckless?" Chu Sheng clung to Amber's slender waist like a koala.
Arthur and Amber looked at him at the same time.
Chu Shengqian chuckled: "Alright, let me put it another way. I definitely won't do anything reckless this time."
Amber hugged him tightly, her toes stepping into the lake water.
She held Chu Sheng as they sank into the lake. Suddenly, many bubbles appeared in the aquatic plants at the bottom of the lake, spreading out layer by layer around the two of them, blocking the cold lake water as much as possible.
Chu Sheng initially held his breath nervously, but he relaxed when he discovered that he could breathe smoothly inside the bubble.
Arthur and the reeds on the shore quickly became blurry as Amber continued to sink with him.
It was quiet underwater; Chu Sheng could hear his own and Amber's heartbeats.
The space inside the bubble wasn't large, so the two had to squeeze very close. If Chu Sheng moved even slightly, he would sink into that soft, ample embrace.
The deeper you go, the darker the lake water becomes. At first, you could still see some silly little fish, but later even the fish disappeared. Only the occasional swaying of water plants could be seen, like eerie hairs sticking out from the darkness.
Chu Sheng felt a chill run down his spine: "Your Majesty, have you ever gone into the water before?"
Does Yuequan count?
"spa?"
"almost."
"How many people are in the party?" Chu Sheng immediately became alert.
Amber looked down, a mischievous smile playing on her lips: "Why are you concerned about this?"
"We're going to spend the rest of our lives together, so what's wrong with me getting to know you?" Chu Sheng said confidently, with Arthur not around.
"Alone." Amber's eyes were gentle, and she nuzzled his head with her chin.
Chu Sheng breathed a sigh of relief.
Amber whispered in his ear, "But that won't be the case anymore."
Chu Sheng's ears were already very sensitive, and he almost stood up from that gust of wind.
Now is not the time! I command you to lie down!
The bubbles carried the two of them as they continued to sink. After an unknown amount of time, the outline of the lake bottom finally appeared.
It was a flat area of black stone.
Chu Sheng glanced at it casually, but couldn't take his eyes off it.
He was trembling all over, his heart was pounding, and even Amber noticed that something was wrong with him and looked in the direction of his gaze.
In the center of the black rock, a lone sword was stuck in the ground.
It was a very ordinary-looking sword, with most of the blade embedded in the stone, only the spine of the blade protruding.
Chu Sheng subconsciously reached out and grabbed Amber's wrist.
"The sword," Amber said softly.
"I saw it." Chu Sheng forced himself to calm down. "The sword in the lake."
Amber slowly shook her head: "Don't come any closer."
"Of course I know." Chu Sheng swallowed hard. "I'm not stupid."
What a coincidence!
The black thread led them out of the post station, but the trail eventually ended in the lake.
And there just so happens to be a sword at the bottom of the lake.
And he might just happen to be a "hero".
"Your Majesty," Chu Sheng lowered his voice, "I think it's too much of a coincidence. This might not be the Sword of the Hero."
Amber nodded gently: "I can't sense its emotions."
"Does the sword of the hero have emotions?"
"I've never touched the Sword of the Hero, but powerful artifacts always retain some emotions. Joy, anger, sorrow, or murderous intent."
Chu Sheng's heart sank; that was the right thing to do.
This is a fucking imposter, it's just waiting for him to pull it out!
Who did this? How could they be so despicable?
Just then, the sword trembled slightly, and three options suddenly popped up in front of Chu Sheng.
coming!
[A. Steps forward and draws his sword, but you are seriously injured.]
[B. Turn around and leave; nothing will happen to you.]
[C. Amber draws her sword, and Amber is slightly injured]
Without hesitation, Chu Sheng immediately chose option B: "Let's go! Back!"
Amber immediately grabbed his hand: "Okay."
However, at that moment, the black stone ground suddenly cracked open, and black energy surged out from the crack, instantly condensing into several chains!
They seemed to have already identified their target and headed straight for Chu Sheng!
Chu Sheng only saw a flash of black light, and before he could react, An Bowen had already pushed him behind her.
She spread her arms wide, like a mother hen protecting her chicks, and the emerald green power of the sacred tree formed a barrier in front of her.
When the black chain slammed into it, the green light barrier was dented in a large chunk.
Chu Sheng was freed from the bubbles, and lake water surged in from all directions. He quickly held his breath, but couldn't help but anxiously call out, "Your Majesty!"
"Don't come any closer." Amber didn't turn around. "They're coming for you."
Chu Sheng was startled.
[B. Turn around and leave; nothing will happen to you.]
Nothing happened to me.
That's right, the options chosen by the player will be perfectly achieved 100%, and Ambermind will block all the attacks for him.
But what about Amber Heard?
