Chapter 75 Morning Meditation
Chapter 75 Morning Meditation
The next morning, Chu Sheng woke up very early.
When he opened his eyes, Arthur was still asleep. Ambermind, lying on her side on his other side, was already awake and quietly watching him.
Chu Sheng was about to greet him when he suddenly realized the situation was extremely awkward.
His health has recovered remarkably well.
Little Chu Sheng was now paying his respects to the Sacred Tree Forest with great enthusiasm!
"Awake?" Amber asked softly.
Chu Sheng immediately closed his eyes: "No."
Amber didn't call him out on it, and instead reached out to wipe away the drool he had drooled in his sleep: "Are you feeling unwell?"
Chu Sheng's face flushed red instantly.
Is this something I can say?
Amber glanced at Arthur on the other side, who was still fast asleep. She looked back at Chu Sheng, her voice low: "Do you need my help?"
Chu Sheng closed his eyes. At this moment, he began to miss the broken bed in Windmill Village, where at least Ella didn't understand anything.
Amber lowered her head, inhaling the delicate fragrance: "Is it alright?"
"...Don't wake her up," Chu Sheng said softly, a little embarrassed.
"it is good."
Her hand slipped silently under the edge of the blankets and moved downwards.
Chu Sheng's pupils dilated in shock!
A cool, gentle hand gently grasped the boy's embarrassed hand.
Her slender fingertips, slightly cool, began to move gently in rhythm. Amber's eyes remained tender as water; she even managed to use one hand to gently wipe the cold sweat from Chu Sheng's forehead.
Chu Sheng didn't even dare to breathe loudly, staring at the glowing veins of the leaf on the ceiling above the bed and counting them.
One leaf, two leaves, three leaves.
By the time he counted to the seventh piece, he had completely forgotten what he was counting.
Just then, Arthur rolled over, startling Chu Sheng so much he almost fell over.
Amber stopped moving, pressing her finger lightly to indicate that she should not move.
Arthur simply shifted his position in his sleep, his ahoge (cowlick) swayed slightly, and he quickly quieted down again.
Chu Sheng breathed a long sigh of relief.
"Relax, don't wake her up," Amber whispered in his ear, her movements suddenly quickening as she kneaded him with her fingertips.
Chu Sheng thrust upwards uncontrollably, trapping all the tape in that soft, warm palm.
It took him several minutes to finally come to his senses.
Amber withdrew her hand with a calm expression. The power of the Sacred Tree flashed, and the stickiness in her palm was instantly cleaned away.
She lowered her head and gently kissed his forehead: "Good morning, little hero."
Chu Sheng looked at her, speechless for a long time, finally managing to stammer, "Your Majesty, is this considered proper hospitality in the royal court?"
Amber said earnestly, "I'm only entertaining you."
Just then, Arthur opened his eyes. Chu Sheng and Amber both fell silent.
Arthur sat up, her long platinum blonde hair slightly disheveled. She squinted at Chu Sheng, then at Amber, and asked, "Why are you all staring at me? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Chu Sheng remained expressionless: "Morning meditation is very useful."
Arthur frowned: "You're lying down meditating?"
"Lying down meditation is probably not popular in the Imperial Center yet."
Arthur looked at him suspiciously.
Amber said softly from the side, "He recovered very well just now, and he looks very energetic."
Arthur stared at Chu Sheng for a few seconds, her cheeks inexplicably flushing slightly, as if she had also realized something. But she had no evidence, so she could only snort coldly, throw off the covers, and get out of bed.
"Pack up," Arthur said with his back to them. "There's an entire royal court waiting for us to deal with outside."
The temporary council chamber was set up next to the central square of the Royal Court.
Half of the original banquet hall had collapsed, so the grey elves built a shed using planks and vines, with a long table placed in the middle of the shed.
Amber sat in the main seat, a map of the royal court spread out before her. She had changed back into her white and gold gown and donned a silver crown, exuding an aura of elegance and nobility.
Arthur sat to her right, with a notebook beside him, looking every bit the model student.
Chu Sheng sat on the left, with a plate of honey vine flower cakes on the table. As he listened, he naturally nudged Ella towards him.
Ella squatted on the chair next to him and carefully reached out to take a piece.
Yinye sat next to her grandmother, nodding her head. She hadn't slept well last night, mainly because her grandmother kept asking her, "Why can't you even play the banjo anymore?"
Several elderly and young representatives from the Gray Domain also arrived, and a number of Gray Elves were gathered outside, craning their necks to look inside.
"The royal court needs to be re-divided," Amber said, tapping the map with her finger. "The sacred tree path must be preserved, the central square of the royal court must be preserved, and the old palace and observatory will be temporarily sealed off. The treehouse complex on the east side is undamaged and can be used as a residential area. The south side is close to the hunting trail and is suitable for rebuilding warehouses and post stations. The west side is low-lying, and several wooden bridges are broken, so we will leave it for now."
Arthur took notes quickly.
Chu Sheng listened very attentively; this was not simply a matter of rebuilding ruins.
The royal court elves have all died out, and Amber has agreed to join the hero's party. If the royal court remains empty, it will soon become a ruin overgrown with weeds.
"I would like to ask the Gray Domain to move some of their people to live in the Royal Court." Amber looked at her grandmother. "Of course, this is not an order, but a request, and it is entirely voluntary."
It was quiet outside the shed; the gray elves looked at each other.
Silverleaf was also taken aback. She had imagined many times herself performing on the highest stargazing platform in the royal court, with all the elves below cheering for her.
Grandmother looked down at the map and remained silent for a long time.
Amber continued, "The treehouse complex on the east side can be entirely handed over to the Gray Domain for management, and the cloth, food, and tools in the Royal Court's warehouse can also be supplied with priority. If you wish, I can turn the hunting trail from the Gray Domain to the Royal Court into a formal road."
A young grey elf's eyes lit up, while the other old man frowned.
Someone outside the shed muttered, "The Wangting Treehouse is so high, what if I fall down when I go to the toilet at night?"
"Just drink less water at night."
"My kidneys are healthy."
Grandma turned around and yelled, "Shut up, all of you!"
It was quiet outside the shed.
Amber wasn't angry; she waited quietly for her grandmother's reply.
Grandmother looked at the map once, then looked at Amber: "Your Majesty, you mean well, but we still want to return to the Gray Zone to live."
Amber was somewhat surprised. The soil in the Gray Domain was barren, and no matter how dilapidated the Royal Court was, it was still the best part of the Sacred Tree Forest. Whether it was water, timber, flower fields, or weather, everything here was far superior to the Gray Domain.
The grey elves have envied the royal elves for so many years, and now that they've been given the chance to move in, they're actually unwilling.
"Why?" Amber asked softly.
Grandmother thought for a moment and said, "The Gray Domain may be poor, but our family's lifeline has always been there."
She raised her hand and pointed southwest.
"My stove is there, my vegetable garden is there, and my quarreling neighbors are there too. We often talk about life, and life refers to these things."
Several gray elf elders outside the shed nodded in agreement.
"The Royal Court is nice, but this is the home of the Royal Court elves." Grandmother glanced back at the dilapidated treehouses. "We've returned the names, but I still don't feel at ease about them moving in."
A young grey elf scratched his head: "Actually, I'd really like to move here for a few days. There are lots of honey vines here in the royal court."
His mother immediately grabbed his ear: "Staying for a few days is fine, but staying for a lifetime is not! What about your life tree? Are you going to let it grow old alone in the gray area?"
The young grey elf winced in pain: "Mother, the Tree of Life isn't my wife!"
Chu Sheng felt a pang of emotion. Ku Lian had spent hundreds of years concluding that the people of the Gray Domain must want to replace the Royal Court, become the new Elven royal family, and live in those high-and-mighty treehouses.
But what the people in the gray area truly cherish is their own lifeline, the land where their ancestors grew and died.
Amber lowered her head, looking at the treehouse cluster on the east side of the map: "Sorry, I underestimated things."
Grandmother quickly waved her hand: "Your Majesty, please don't misunderstand. No one in the Gray Domain blames you; it's already more than enough that you're willing to let us into the Royal Court."
"But it shouldn't be up to me to decide where you live," Amber said, looking up. "If you want to go back to the Gray Area, then go back to the Gray Area."
She pushed the map toward her grandmother.
"However, the Royal Court will continue to keep the gates open for the Gray Domain. You can stay in the treehouses here anytime, the roads will be repaired, the Royal Court's warehouses will be open to the Gray Domain, and the children of the Gray Domain who want to learn Ancient Spirit Language and Herbalism or Etiquette and Magic can also come to the library here."
The gray elves outside the shed began to whisper among themselves again.
"What's the point of learning etiquette? To bow before arguing?"
"Herbal medicine is great! You can learn about herbal medicine. My kid picks Doom-shrooms every day thinking they're Puff-shrooms."
"Is there some kind of magic that makes pots wash themselves? I want to learn that!"
"Can't you be a little more ambitious? Is magic for washing pots?"
"Then it can be used for washing dishes."
Amber listened to the gray elves chattering and suddenly laughed.
"Okay," she said. "Let's do it this way for now."
