Chapter 41 This isn't quite right, Your Majesty.
Chu Sheng lay hidden behind a fern leaf, watching the four elven guards in front of the main gate of the palace.
He didn't go through the main entrance; only a fool would go through the main entrance.
He followed a twisted root of the giant tree to the side and found a half-open high window.
The window wasn't low off the ground, so he reached out and gripped the gaps in the bark, stepping on the protruding wooden blocks with his toes, and slowly climbed up.
The bark was hard and covered with tiny splinters, making the climb far more difficult than he had imagined. Chu Sheng gritted his teeth, trying to slow down as much as possible.
The amulet forbids running fast, but who knows what constitutes "too fast"? If you climb too fast and the amulet interprets it as a vertical sprint, you'll really get caught red-handed.
He slowly climbed to the windowsill and peeked inside.
The palace was dark, with moonlight slanting in, revealing a large wooden bed in the center of the room. The four bedposts were made of living wood, with white gauze curtains hanging from their branches.
The gauze curtain was half-drawn, revealing the snow-white bedding inside.
A woman was lying on the bed; it was Amber.
Without further hesitation, Chu Sheng climbed through the window.
He stood there for a few seconds, making sure the guards outside didn't react, before slowly walking towards the bed.
Amber was sleeping on her side, her long, light blonde hair spread across the pillow, some of it hanging down to the edge of the bed. She was wearing a white nightgown, the material of which was very thin, and one of the straps had slipped down, revealing her rounded shoulder and the delicate skin below her collarbone.
During the day, the Queen sits regally on her throne; she is beautiful then, but distant.
They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, but now that the distance is gone, Chu Sheng thinks she's even more beautiful.
The body of a mature woman nestled quietly in the bedding, her breathing soft and gentle. Her chest, supported by her nightgown, displayed a fullness characteristic of mature women.
The white pajamas clung to her chest, stretching gently with her breath and then slowly relaxing. The neckline was stretched taut, barely able to contain the full, soft breasts beneath.
Chu Sheng's gaze moved downwards.
Her waist was very slender, half of which was covered by a thin blanket. But the blanket clung to her body, making that waistline even more prominent. Below that was her wide and full hips; she lay on her side, her buttocks pushing the blanket out in an exaggerated, bulging arc.
Chu Sheng's Adam's apple bobbed as he tried to look away.
Damn, who can withstand this?
I'm here to rescue people, I'm here to gather intelligence, I'm a decent person!
No, what respectable person would climb through a window into the Queen's bedroom in the middle of the night?
Chu Sheng muttered a curse to himself, but gritted his teeth and continued to approach.
Then he saw the chain!
If you don't look closely, you might almost mistake the chains for decorations. Amber wore a silver ring on each of her wrists, the rings were very narrow, and they left shallow marks on her wrists.
A thin chain extends from the silver ring to the headboard and disappears into the living wood.
Her ankles were also chained, and the silver chain slid down her inner calf under the covers. Because she was lying on her side, the chain was bent slightly by her body and lay against her leg.
Chu Sheng walked to the side of the bed and finally saw the silver chain hidden under the covers. It was wrapped around Amber's waist and abdomen, pressing down on her nightgown. The nightgown was already form-fitting, and the chain accentuated her waist and hips.
The Elf Queen of the Sacred Tree Forest is tied to her own bed!
A chill ran down his spine, and he reached out to see where the chain by the bed led.
However, before the fingers could even touch it, a very soft sound rang out.
"Don't move."
Chu Sheng froze. He turned around and saw that An Bowen on the bed had opened her eyes at some point, and her emerald-gold eyes were looking at him.
Chu Sheng looked down at himself. The layer of gray mist was still there. Logically, he should still be invisible, right?
Amber seemed to have known he was there all along, her eyes fixed on his face.
"Can you see me?" Chu Sheng didn't speak, but asked with his mouth.
Just then, he felt a burning sensation on the amulet on his chest, and the gray mist on his body was forcibly expelled by some force in the palace!
Invisibility is gone!
Chu Sheng stood by the bed, staring wide-eyed at An Bowen, who was locked inside.
The scene was awkward, and what was even more awkward was that he had been staring at the woman's waist and hips for quite a while.
Amber looked at him quietly, her voice low: "Things from the Gray Domain can't be hidden from my palace for long."
Chu Sheng also lowered his voice, "You're awake?"
"I can't sleep." Amber moved her wrist, and the silver chain jingled softly. "Being tied up like this, it's hard to sleep well."
Looking at the red marks on her wrist, Chu Sheng felt his chaotic thoughts subside, and reason regained control.
"Did you give me the note?"
"Yes."
"Those elves outside..."
Amber's eyes darkened.
Chu Sheng shut up; her reaction was clear enough.
He leaned closer and asked in a low voice, "How can I help you unlock it? Where's the key?"
Amber didn't answer immediately. She tried to prop herself up, but her wrists were held back by the chain, and she could only lift them a little. The nightgown stretched taut across her chest from this movement, supporting her heavy, soft breasts. The neckline slipped open half an inch, revealing a dazzling white figure.
She seemed to sense something was wrong, glancing down at the scene, but lacked the strength to cover it up.
Chu Sheng immediately looked to the side, only to find her waist being pressed down by the silver chain.
He simply stared at the bedpost, as if some cryptocurrency key was engraved on it.
When Amber saw him like that, a faint smile appeared in her eyes.
"You're even more interesting than Audrey wrote in her letter."
"What did she say about me in the letter?" Chu Sheng turned around curiously.
"I told you you're good at getting into trouble," Amber whispered, her voice tinged with a hint of playfulness.
"Didn't you say a few words of praise afterward?"
"no."
"That cat has no conscience."
Amber smiled, but the silver chain immediately tightened. Her brows furrowed slightly, and her chest rose and fell rapidly with her breathing.
Chu Sheng's heart tightened: "Does it hurt a lot?"
"Leave me alone," she whispered. "You can't stay too long."
"Tell me how to save you first." Chu Sheng shook his head. "You only have one chance, don't waste it."
Suddenly, Amber looked towards the door, and her long, pointed ears twitched.
Chu Sheng heard it too; it was footsteps!
His scalp tingled. The invisibility was gone. He looked around and found the room completely empty—no curtains, no cabinets, no space under the bed.
He could only look out the window, considering whether he should retreat first.
Just then, Amber's gaze swept quickly across the palace, finally settling on Chu Sheng's face. She said softly, "Come up."
Chu Sheng was stunned: "Huh?"
"On the bed." Unable to move, Amber could only gesture towards the bed with her lips.
"This isn't quite right, Your Majesty," Chu Sheng said, his eyes gleaming.
There was a knock at the door: "Knock, knock, knock. Your Majesty? Are you still awake?"
Chu Sheng dared not say another word, lifted a corner of the thin blanket, and braced himself to crawl inside.
However, he regretted it as soon as he crawled inside.
It was much narrower than he had imagined!
Although the bed was large, Amber was also very tall, and she was secured to the center of the bed with silver chains, leaving her with very little room to move.
Chu Sheng could only press himself against her from behind, with half of his body hanging off the edge of the bed and the other half forced to squeeze into the blankets.
