Chapter 58 Psychotherapy
Chapter 58 Psychotherapy
Adam gazed gently at Altair, his clear, deep golden eyes seeming to see into one's soul: "You are still resisting this world. Although you know very well that the old world is a thing of the past and you should embrace the new world, deep down you are refusing to do so. This is a very contradictory psychological problem."
"Is it because you know too much?"
"Because you know too much, you lose your confidence and act timidly with every step, for fear of unexpected problems."
"This is also very much in line with the character of you Arabs. Because of your ignorance, you treat everything in this world as a game, and only after you are completely immersed in it do you begin to think that it is a living world."
"And you, 'born with knowledge,' so you've always lived cautiously."
"I'm curious where you learned this knowledge. Was it because of that 'castle'?"
Adam's words made Altair look troubled. Although he knew the 'audience's' abilities were abnormal, he never expected them to be this 'abnormal'. He had only exchanged a few words before his secrets were exposed.
After a moment of silent cursing, he said directly to Adam:
"I know you Russians are very direct, but I didn't expect you to expose my secrets so directly."
Adam laughed and said directly, "Cultural differences lead to different ways of communicating, which is normal, just like you might think I'm wrong before you speak."
Altair stared at Adam in shock, never expecting to be mind-read. But 'He' didn't seem angry, saying bluntly, "To be honest, I really thought you were like the rumors say, overflowing with divinity and lacking in humanity."
Adam chuckled at Altair and then said, "I don't quite agree with their definition of me. I also have my own humanity, but there's no need for me to show it."
"Also, if I behave inappropriately, you can say so directly instead of grumbling to yourself. My ethnic group is different from yours; we prefer directness and dislike talking behind people's backs."
This is indeed a fact. The ancient sun god who once protected mankind has fallen. Now he is just Adam, and there is no need for him to show his humanity to unrelated people.
But the way Adam is behaving now is a complete departure from his usual humanity, completely contradicting his explanation of the culture he's supposed to be promoting.
Altair then stated bluntly:
"Indeed, as you say, my knowledge does come from that 'castle.' It's not the castle you think it is. Um, you should know what I mean."
Adam chuckled and nodded. "I know. Although I haven't had any formal contact with them, I can clearly feel the difference between the two."
"Although I've seen many unusual items over the years, this is the first time I've seen something like this. If I hadn't observed it myself for so long, I wouldn't have discovered its existence. Your extraordinary characteristics must also be influenced by it."
Altair looked at him silently, not wanting to speak, and could only nod.
Adam shook his head and said, "I have no intention of taking 'He' from me. My path is already predetermined. He has no value to me, and would even be a burden. Besides, you are already tightly bound together and inseparable."
"Would you like to join the Extraordinary Organization that I founded? I think you already know the details of this organization without me having to go into too much detail."
"Don't worry, you won't have to pay anything for this."
"Hmm," Altair thought for a moment and readily accepted, deciding to join. After all, this organization was the most mysterious and influential secret society in existence. Its goal of "driving historical milestones" meant it had a large number of "high-ranking" members, which represented a wealth of resources.
Adam smiled helplessly, "It's not as exaggerated as you think. We can't completely determine the course of reality yet, but the resources that will allow you to advance are definitely tradable."
Altair expressed his helplessness at His behavior, saying, "Can you please stop reading minds all the time? It's making me very embarrassed."
Adam's expression remained unchanged, unaffected by those words. He explained, "I didn't use any abilities; I simply guessed based on observation. You've also taken the 'Spectator' potion, so you should know that this is practically an instinct."
"There are still some members of the Augustus family in the Twilight Hermits' Society. If you don't want to reveal your identity, I suggest you don't participate using your real name."
Altair nodded to indicate that he understood, but still asked curiously, "Didn't you say today was just a simple meeting? Why did you invite me to join the Twilight Hermits' Society?"
Adam nodded and said, "When you were advancing the weapon development, some people suggested bringing you on board. However, I temporarily suppressed the idea because of the weapon's name."
"So inviting you to join wasn't my decision, but theirs."
Altair countered, "Why are you willing to talk to me about these things?"
Adam thought for a moment and smiled, "Consider it providing what help I can to my contemporaries."
Altair was speechless at this explanation. After thinking for a moment, he said, "As a senior, shouldn't you give me some perks, like letting me see the Blasphemous Tablet or giving me the Empress's Token?"
Adam shook his head immediately at Altair's suggestion, saying, "What you want is the Priestess card. The blasphemous card corresponding to the Witch Path is the Priestess, not the Empress."
"Roselle created the Blasphemous Cards based on a triple framework of 'path essence + Tarot symbolism + contamination narrative'."
"Besides, even if you wanted it, I couldn't give it to you; it's not with me."
"As for the desecrated stone tablet, I can show it to you at the gathering if you wish."
Altair thought for a moment, then shook his head and refused, saying, "I was just saying. If I really need to watch it, I'll ask you for it."
"Aren't you curious about my background? After all, people from that era have already been arrested, and now everyone is still hanging around as 'dried bacon'."
Adam smiled and shook his head, saying, "I'm not curious. If you really want to talk about it, I'm happy to listen. If you don't want to, that's fine too; I don't want to ask too much. Besides, even if I asked you now, I wouldn't get the right answer, and it would only put you in a difficult position, which would be pointless."
"Alright then." Altair nodded, still unwilling to reveal his origins. He then said, "Thank you for not asking."
As Altair chatted with Adam, he felt his mind gradually relax and his true nature begin to be liberated.
Seeing the change in him, Adam smiled and said, "From now on, you can vent any unpleasant feelings you have. After all, in other people's eyes, you're just a 'child,' but please integrate into this world as soon as possible; it's good for your physical and mental health."
"Remember to go to sleep early tonight at 8 pm."
"I know." Altair looked up, but there was no one there. If it weren't for this memory, he would have thought it was all a dream. This Angel King really could come and go as he pleased.
But was his real purpose really to meet? I feel like I've been given a form of therapy by him.
