Chapter 27 The Sun God's Decision
Chapter 27 The Sun God's Decision
The Vice-King of Heaven took a deep breath and asked in as gentle a tone as possible, "Can anyone tell me what happened here? Was there an attack?"
Upon hearing this, everyone present froze.
Rosen was the first to recover. Although he had dodged most of the attacks, his hair was still singed at the ends. He immediately raised his hand to report, "This was all Little Red's doing. Little Red is shameless, bullying the weak and chasing us with flames."
"Yes, that's it." Amon, who was next to him, nodded quickly. He was burned the most. Although he wasn't bald yet, he would have to live with a buzz cut for a while. At this moment, he hated the Red Angel with a vengeance.
Adam hesitated for a moment, then said, "Medici did indeed do that."
Hearing the three children's unanimous story, Sasriel didn't say whether he believed them or not. Instead, he looked at Medici and asked with an unchanged expression, "Medici, are they telling the truth?"
Medici's expression was stiff. He glanced at the three little ones beside him, their hair blackened and their faces covered in soot, clearly having just come out of a fire. Suddenly, he smirked triumphantly and said, "It was my doing. They deserved it."
Sasriel's expression immediately became subtle. He looked at the three little ones, then at Medici, his expression changing repeatedly before finally letting out a helpless sigh. He said, "I don't know what happened, but children, could you please help repair the palace for the next period of time?"
No one disagreed with Sasriel's request, since both Medici and Rosen were somewhat uneasy about it.
After that, Sasriel looked at Medici first and said, "I believe you know your limits, but they are still just children after all. Even if they are naughty, we adults should be more tolerant sometimes, shouldn't we?"
Medici couldn't stand this. If Saslil had criticized Him harshly, He might have felt indignant, but the Red Angel was really struggling to resist such gentle persuasion.
So, though somewhat reluctant, Medici nodded and said, "I'll be more careful next time."
Sasriel's smile showed some satisfaction upon seeing this. He then looked at the three little ones on the other side. At this moment, Amon and Rosen were secretly competing to push each other over, which made Sasriel cough.
"cough!"
The thief twins, who were just jostling each other, immediately separated, their postures becoming as serious as could be.
"Children!" Sasriel smiled gently when the three looked over. He beckoned to them, and once they were all beside him, he suddenly flicked each of them on the head with lightning speed.
"Hiss!" This was Rosen, who was clutching his head.
"Ugh!" This was Amon's reaction, filled with shock.
"Uh!" This was Adam, who felt utterly innocent.
The usually good-natured Sasriel maintained his smile, but it was no longer friendly; instead, it seemed somewhat terrifying: "Remember this lesson. I know Medici had his reasons for attacking you. You should also remember not to recklessly provoke beings stronger than yourselves. Medici is your brother, so he only teaches you a lesson; it's not the same for outsiders."
Faced with such a Sasriel, even Rosen, who was always the most reckless and brave, dared not cause any more trouble and could only hang his head and accept the scolding.
After disciplining the child, Saslir even smiled and looked at Klein, who was now as quiet as a chicken, and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Klein, you must have found this amusing."
"N-nothing." Klein immediately shook his head vigorously, with only one thought in his mind:
Rosen, your dad is terrifying too!
After this little incident, Sasriel looked at the Sun God, who was also present but had remained silent until now, and said with a guilty expression, "I'm sorry, Lord, it was my fault for not disciplining them properly."
"This is none of your business." The Sun God shook his head, his golden eyes looking in Rosen's direction. His gaze paused for a moment as it swept over Klein, as if he had noticed something, but ultimately said nothing, only looking at Rosen and asking, "Does He have a message for me?"
Rosen blinked, naturally understanding what the Sun God was asking, and nodded, saying, "Father, Third Father asked me to tell you to be careful of the sun."
The Sun God was clearly taken aback by the unusual title "Third Father." He nodded to indicate that he understood, paused for a moment, and then suddenly said, "There will be a banquet in three days, where all the angel kings who are away will return."
Oh open!
Rosen raised an eyebrow and immediately asked with great interest, "So, Father, are you going to introduce us to them?"
So you're ready to stop isolating me from them and want to use my power?
The Sun God may have understood Rosen's hidden meaning, or he may not have; He simply looked at Rosen and said, "I will announce your...and your identities at that banquet."
—I will announce to everyone that you are my child.
Then Rosen smiled, a bright and innocent smile. His emerald green eyes met those of the sun god, like an innocent child: "Then I will definitely be a good child, Father."
So try to trust me, Sun God, even though I know you are deeply afraid of me!
The sun god remained noncommittal.
This seemingly warm but actually turbulent father-son conversation was not something everyone could understand, but no one in the room was stupid. Even those who didn't know the inside story could vaguely sense that the father and son didn't seem to have a very close relationship.
Regardless of what they thought, the sun god looked at Medici and seemed to sigh at that moment. He said, "I apologize to you for my future choices, Medici."
Medici's expression was clearly complex upon hearing this. He gritted his teeth, remaining silent, and waited for the sun god to continue. Then, he heard an almost unbelievable statement:
"You can leave."
Medici looked up at the Sun God in disbelief, unable to contain his emotions any longer, and shouted, "You want me to leave?"
The sun god looked at Him, then glanced at Rosen beside Him out of the corner of his eye, and couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
He genuinely wanted Medici to leave. This was not abandonment; on the contrary, the sun god was truly considering Medici's well-being. The sun god was unsure whether he would repeat the same mistake and was aware of Medici's current resentment towards him. Under these circumstances, separation was the best option for both parties.
In addition, the Sun God had to consider one more thing: Rosen had clearly set his sights on Medici, this monster whose true nature was inexplicably strange, and who was obviously very interested in the Red Angel.
The sun god could not be sure whether this was a good thing for Medici, but He knew very well that the gods’ interest in ants often brought disaster to them. In this case, letting Medici leave was His way of protecting him.
