Chapter 8 Turning Point and Madness
Chapter 8 Turning Point and Madness
Hick stared in utter shock at the wizard Klin bursting through the door, his mind going completely blank!
Why?!
Wasn't the mentor's plan flawless?
By using Carlo to convey false information and then "forcing" himself to reveal his fatal flaw, Klin was completely misled!
Aren't all of these things within the mentor's expectations?
Klin should be immersed in the false perception of Pelo's "failure" right now, and just wait for Pelo to be "beastified" and suffer the backlash!
How did he end up here?
How could he possibly pinpoint the core location of the laboratory so precisely, and even break through multiple layers of security?!
"You're shocked? Are you?" The wizard Klin's cold voice, filled with endless resentment and a hint of cat-and-mouse-like pleasure, pierced through the turbulent energy flow and clearly reached Hick's ears.
Those serpentine eyes were now staring mockingly at Heathcliff, whose face was ashen.
At this moment, Hick dared not say a word, only feeling endless fear welling up in his heart.
If the mentor dies, then I will surely die as well.
The unusable system and his own weak strength left Hick feeling utterly powerless.
Krillin was completely overwhelmed by despair at his lack of strength and his inability to control his own destiny.
"Foolish little apprentice, do you think that old fox Perot has orchestrated everything?" Klin's voice was full of sarcasm.
"He used Carlo to spread false information, and then used you to fabricate 'flaws' to lull me into a false sense of security... The plan was perfect, wasn't it?"
A cruel smile crept across his face. "Too bad, he overlooked one thing!"
"Right now, Perot is at his most vulnerable and distracted moment for his promotion! He's doomed! And you…"
His gaze swept over Hick as if he were looking at an insect to be crushed, "...I will be buried with him!"
After speaking, the dark energy in Klin Wizard's hand compressed, and the energy, exuding an aura of destruction, slowly gathered.
Level One Sorcery!
Darkness and Radiance!
Looking at the magic that had slipped through his fingers, and at the smug and arrogant expression on the face of the wizard Klin.
There was also the professor lying motionless on the lab table with his eyes closed.
Hick's initial feelings of powerlessness, fear, and despair transformed into a deep sense of resentment.
Just when Hick was completely despondent, a notification sound suddenly rang in his mind!
"Experimental Project: Perfect Heart Transplant to Resolve Pero Heath's Physical Problems and Attempt to Advance to Second-Level Wizard."
Experiment objective: To achieve the goal of becoming a Level 2 Wizard.
Experiment proceeded smoothly!
Experiment result: Success.
Participation rate in the experiment: 83%.
Experiment difficulty: 2-
Experiment score: 249.
There are currently 285 experimental sites. Experiments 1 and 2 are highly similar and the results are usable. Should we solidify the experimental results (without side effects)?
The existing results are as follows:
1. A perfect heart transplant for a level 2 wizard apprentice! (Can be solidified with 100 experimental points.)
2. A perfect heart transplant from a first-level wizard! (Insufficient points to solidify.)
The sudden news made Hick tremble uncontrollably, not because of the current situation or his own predicament, but because of excitement about himself now.
Nowhere to be found!
83% participation rate?
Hick was initially delighted, but then puzzled: Why is it so high?
After a moment's thought, he suddenly understood:
Although the entire process was conducted under the guidance of a mentor, I actually did almost all of the actual work myself!
According to the system's assessment, the mentor is probably just an experimental subject, while the person in charge is the one in control!
Most importantly—the system indicated that the experiment was successful!
That means the mentor has already become...
Level Two Wizard!
Hick suddenly looked up at the lab table!
Suddenly, Perot's tightly closed eyes snapped open! His body floated up silently!
Elemental energy surged throughout his body like a storm, unleashing the immense power of a second-level wizard!
The intense pressure almost suffocated Hick!
"Krillin...you've finally come. I've been waiting for you...for so long."
As the sound faded, Pero's suspended body did not move an inch; he simply raised his right hand casually toward the dark orb that Klin had shot toward him.
Snapped!
A soft popping sound, like a bubble being crushed.
That terrifying level one sorcery—Dark Breath—was enough to annihilate the entire experimental table.
Several meters away from Perot's raised palm, it was as if it had struck an invisible wall of sighs, and instantly... it vanished!
There was no explosion, no impact; it simply vanished silently into the air, as if it had never existed!
Klin's sinister smile froze instantly, and his pupils shrank to pinpoints!
He stared in disbelief at Pero's floating figure, feeling the terrifying aura emanating from him—a aura that, though not fully stable, had already surpassed that of a first-level wizard, making his very soul tremble!
"You...you..." Klin's voice trembled with shock and disbelief for the first time, "You...you succeeded?!"
"You're surprised, aren't you?"
The instructor's voice remained calm and unhurried, as if the deadly crisis had never existed.
"You think your trickery is foolproof?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Hick, who had just survived the ordeal and was considering what to do next, felt a tearing pain in his arm.
"ah---"
A slender, blood vessel-like bizarre creature was forcibly ripped from Hick's arm by an invisible force.
Clutching his bleeding arm and forcing himself to calm down, Hick saw a slender creature rolling on the ground, and felt a chill run down his spine!
Why is this thing on my body?
Who put it there?
Before he could come up with an answer, his mentor's cold words revealed the answer to him, sending a chill down his spine!
"You let Hick out of the wizard's tower, probably because you wanted to put this Aros Bloodworm into the body of my little apprentice."
"So, whether I deal with that traitor or not, there will always be a 'messenger' to keep you informed, allowing you to accurately seize the opportunity to strike, right, Klin?"
Seeing that all his plans had been seen through, the wizard Klin's face was filled with disbelief.
"How...how did you know?"
"You're still as stupid as ever, Krillin!"
The mentor's tone was filled with helplessness and contempt at encountering an idiot.
"Now, you should obediently become my test subject, right?"
Sensing the chilling killing intent hidden in his mentor's calm words, the wizard Klin, already in dire straits, contorted his face with rage and roared in a near-mad manner.
"Pelo, you think you've got me figured out? You want to use me as your guinea pig? You're dreaming!"
Upon hearing Klin's words, Klin, who was clutching his bleeding arm and feeling that the situation was settled, had a bad feeling.
A deep sense of death loomed over Hick's mind.
"I'm going to die! I'm going to die!"
A sense of unease made Hick rush towards the entrance without thinking twice.
The wizard Klin is too busy taking care of himself to look after himself.
The mentor faces the unknown threat of the wizard Klin and doesn't care about himself.
As for what happens next? I'm about to die, who cares about that!
"If we can't live, then let's die together! Perot, let's embrace the truth together!"
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly pulled an item from his pocket—
It was a dark, cracked crystal pillar containing powerful dark energy.
A violent and unstable energy pulsed wildly within it, and its very existence caused the surrounding space to begin to distort slightly!
