Chu Hang had a sudden thought and chose the third path.
"Let me test the limits of this new body."
He suddenly exerted force with his legs, and his whole body leaped up like a weightless feather. He lightly touched the wall with his toes, flipped over, and was already hanging upside down on all fours from the ceiling.
Perfect balance, gravity-defying coordination! He unleashed the agility and strength granted by the Super Soldier Serum to its fullest potential in this moment.
"The view from the ceiling is indeed different."
He grinned, like a real predatory spider, moving swiftly across the ceiling, each movement precisely positioned above the densest area of the spider swarm.
Then, stomp down hard!
The power enhanced by the serum poured down from the soles of his feet without reservation. A large swarm of mechanical spiders, along with the concrete ceiling beneath their feet, was instantly crushed into dust. This felt far more satisfying than crushing a bunch of cockroaches.
The three of them—a tank, a berserker, and a highly mobile assassin—formed a classic iron triangle combination, managing to fight their way through the spider swarm.
However, just as he was getting into the killing frenzy, his "full-map sonar" picked up a bad signal.
He "heard" that the real main force, the Spider Tide, that mechanical legion that could be described as a "vast ocean," completely ignored their battle and bypassed them through countless backup pipes and ventilation shafts, launching a three-dimensional encirclement of the B-sector prison from all directions.
Use a small force to hold them off while the main force raids their base.
"Oh no!" Chu Hang immediately switched back to "anxious teammate" mode and shouted down, "Captain! We've been tricked! Their main force has bypassed us! Their target is still the prison!"
Steve and Logan froze abruptly.
"Retreat! Charge!"
Steve made a decisive move, abandoning the fight. The three of them forced their way out, carving a path through the electrifying tide of metal.
But when they rushed out of the corridor and arrived at the main road leading to Area B, all three of them stopped abruptly as if they were braking.
Ahead of them, two makeshift machine gun positions made of sandbags and steel plates blocked the only passage. The dark muzzles of the two MG42 machine guns, known as "Hitler's chainsaws," were already aimed at them.
Behind them, the swarm of mechanical spiders that had been thrown off was making a sickening rustling sound as it regrouped, preparing to launch a new attack.
Heavy firepower blocked the way in front, while endless self-destructing monsters lurked behind.
Chu Hang licked his dry lips, but the excitement in his eyes grew stronger.
That's quite interesting.
Chapter 38 Battle Conclusion
In front of you are two "Hitler chainsaws" spewing out deathly heavy metal, while behind you is a sea of mechanical spiders whirring and ready to pounce on you and give you a passionate embrace before "BOOM!" sending you flying into the sky.
Chu Hang was very familiar with this feeling.
Isn't this the most classic scene in video games? You finally fight your way to the BOSS room, only to find two elite gatekeepers with huge health bars standing there, followed by a train of endless mobs, and a bright red countdown timer for a rescue in the upper right corner of the screen.
A classic deadly trap of "attacked from both sides, with the enemy's attack escalating in the middle."
An average player would probably have both hands off the keyboard by now, contemplating whether to switch classes or uninstall the game altogether.
The problem is that Chu Hang's two teammates are clearly not "ordinary players".
Especially Steve Rogers.
It seems that the commands "abandon" and "retreat" are not even written into this guy's gaming dictionary.
"I need three seconds."
Steve's voice seemed to come straight from his chest, incredibly calm and composed, without the slightest emotional fluctuation. He didn't even turn around, but Chu Hang and Logan instantly understood that these words were a tactical instruction given to them.
In this corridor of death storm woven from 7.92mm Mauser rounds, even a hesitation of 0.3 seconds, let alone three seconds, is enough to turn a cow into a sieve.
Logan let out a low growl like a wild beast, took a step forward, and pressed his entire body almost against Steve's back, like a cheetah poised to pounce, entrusting his most vulnerable back to Chu Hang behind him without reservation.
Wow, the trust between amazing teammates is so simple and genuine.
Chu Hang took a deep breath. His heart, which had been pumping blood at breakneck speed during the battle, strangely slowed down at this moment. The 100% fused Super Soldier Serum brought not only explosive power and speed, but also a calm mind comparable to a supercomputer.
The only way to survive is to use the most unreasonable, barbaric, and efficient method to take down those two "iron turtles" before the countdown reaches zero!
"The one on the left is mine." Chu Hang's words were concise and to the point, his voice not loud, but clear enough to pierce through the hail of bullets.
“Received.” Steve’s response was just one word.
Almost a fraction of a second after Chu Hang finished speaking, Steve moved!
His perfectly sculpted muscles tensed abruptly, his center of gravity shifted, and the round shield bearing the Stars and Stripes became an unshakeable wall, protecting his entire upper body. The next second, like an enraged bull, he plunged headlong into the web of fire and shrapnel that bound him to death.
"Clang, clang, clang, clang--!"
A series of rapid, explosive metallic clangs pierced everyone's eardrums. Countless bullets slammed into the vibranium shield, the sparks flying like a miniature fireworks display. The terrifying impact caused the concrete beneath Steve's feet to crack inch by inch.
But he did not back down an inch.
He was like a fearless ship braving a Category 12 storm, using his own flesh and blood to withstand the terrifying kinetic energy that was enough to overturn an armored vehicle, advancing step by step, steadfastly and relentlessly.
This is the version's chosen one, Captain America! A man who has taken the "T" role to its ultimate level.
Behind him, Logan's figure was almost one with his. He was huddled in the "absolute safe zone" cast by the shield, his steps perfectly mirroring Steve's, and his three bone claws, gleaming with a chilling light, were already locked onto the right-hand machine gunner's throat.
This coordination wasn't something that could be practiced; it was a fighting instinct honed amidst mountains of corpses and seas of blood, a muscle memory forged through countless life-or-death situations.
Chu Hang, however, chose the third path—a path recommended by the system, one that involved a lot of clever maneuvering.
Just as Steve used his "vibranium bowl" to draw all the aggro, Chu Hang's body also moved.
He stomped his right foot heavily on the ground, and instead of moving forward, he shot diagonally upward, like an arrow released from a bow, hurtling towards the wall on the left.
I'm going to smash Newton's coffin lid today!
With the terrifying boost from the Super Soldier Serum, Chu Hang's body felt weightless, and gravity seemed like a joke to him. His toes moved with ease on the 90-degree vertical wall, his body forming a strange 30-degree angle with the ground. He was like a ghost gliding along the wall, so fast that he left only a faint afterimage in the air.
The two Hydra machine gunners were completely absorbed by the "Iron Can" charging straight at them with a shield. They never dreamed that the real Grim Reaper had already silently descended from their blind spot.
After sprinting seven or eight meters along the wall, Chu Hang suddenly exerted force from his waist and abdomen, twisting his body in mid-air to the extreme. He used his hands to brace himself against a thick ventilation duct on the ceiling, completing a perfect "giant loop" like a gymnast, and silently passed over the machine gun position.
Then, gravity took over his body again.
He descended from the sky like a falcon with its wings folded, his target—the back of the head of the machine gunner on the left.
There was no earth-shattering roar, only a dull, teeth-grinding sound of bone cracking.
Chu Hang's knee struck the Hydra soldier's nape with precision, weight, and without any flourish. The unfortunate fellow didn't even have time to utter a sound before his body collapsed like boneless mud, his finger still tightly gripping the trigger, but the muzzle flash had been extinguished forever.
Almost simultaneously, the outcome of the battle on the main battlefield was also decided.
When Steve was less than five meters from the machine gun position on the right, he let out a roar that had been suppressed for a long time. The power that had been suppressed by the shield for three whole seconds erupted like a volcano at this moment.
With a flick of his wrist, the vibranium shield, which had absorbed tons of kinetic energy, transformed into a red, blue, and white death disc, accompanied by a piercing shriek that tore through the air, and flew out in a spinning motion.
Its target was not the machine gunner, but a load-bearing steel pillar on the side of the machine gun position.
The shield slammed into the steel pillar with a deafening roar, then rebounded at an angle that defied all the laws of physics, like a boomerang with built-in GPS, slamming hard and accurately into the temple of the machine gunner on the right.
The poor fellow, his eyes still filled with terror, fell straight backward.
Just as he fell, a dark shadow that had been waiting in the wings darted out from behind Steve like lightning.
Like a tiger finally freed from its cage, he pounced on the machine gun emplacement, which had lost its master, in three strides. His sharp bone claws mercilessly sliced through the two other soldiers inside, who were stunned and about to draw their pistols, turning them into two bloody corpses in an instant.
Clean, swift, and bloody.
From the moment Steve shouted "three seconds" until two heavy firing positions, enough to block out an entire city, were completely eliminated, the whole process took less than five seconds.
Chu Hang nimbly jumped down from the machine gun position, glanced at Steve who calmly retrieved the shield, and then at Logan who was wiping the blood from his claws against the wall. He couldn't help but feel a heartfelt emotion.
That's a textbook example of a powerful attack! A top-tier main tank, a fury warrior DPS, plus myself, an assassin who's showing off my skills—this lineup would be a speedrun setup in any game.
"Swish..."
The sounds behind them grew closer, and the annoying mechanical spiders surged into the corridor like a tide.
"No time to loot! Let's go!" Steve shouted without even glancing at the corpses and equipment on the ground, his eyes fixed on the closed iron door at the end of the corridor.
The three of them started again, sprinting desperately towards the B-sector cells.
Chapter 39 The Prison! The Last Stand!
Boom!Boom!Boom!
Each slam of the heavy military boots onto the ground sounded like a battering ram beating a drum.
The entire narrow underground passage groaned under the relentless onslaught of the three humanoid self-propelled weapons. Dust cascaded down the walls, constantly flakes off from the tremors, while the already dim explosion-proof lights overhead flickered wildly amidst the violent shaking, occasionally emitting a crackling sound of electricity before plunging into complete darkness.
Half light, half darkness.
The flickering light, like a malfunctioning movie projector, stretched, twisted, and cut the three figures against the cold steel wall into frames of violent and blurry ghostly figures rushing out of hell.
A complex smell filled the air.
It smelled of metal, the pungent odor of ozone, and a faint, lingering scent of blood.
Chu Hang felt as if his lungs were a broken bellows, each breath bringing a scalding heat. But he felt no fatigue, not at all.
The explosive power from the Super Soldier Serum roared and surged through every muscle fiber of his body like a flood bursting its banks. His heart pounded like a war drum struck by a giant, each powerful beat pumping hot blood to his limbs and bones, bringing waves of tingling pleasure and a surge of power.
The self-healing factor originating from Logan is like an inexhaustible nuclear furnace, burning away the tearing pain caused by each muscle overload exercise the moment it occurs, transforming it into a purer and more violent power!
Destruction and rebirth go hand in hand!
This extreme sensation of both pain and pleasure made him almost want to roar to the sky!
He looked at the blue figure running in front and only one word came to his mind: madman.
Steve Rogers, this man, is like a blue rocket that, once ignited, can never be stopped. His physique is as muscular as a prehistoric armored bull; the words "dodge" and "slow down" don't exist in his dictionary. His eyes are fixed on the impossibly thick steel door at the end of the corridor, the concrete floor beneath his feet cracking under his weight.
He wasn't running; he was using his own flesh and blood to draw the shortest straight line to victory!
Chu Hang could sense that his counterfeit serum was potent enough, but compared to the genuine product, it always felt lacking in soul. That soul was... a pure, unadulterated steely will that could burn someone alive into a flag.
And almost on par with Steve was Logan.
This guy was even more decisive, abandoning walking on two legs altogether and landing on all fours. His muscles, bulging like pythons beneath his combat suit, made him look like a saber-toothed tiger that had sprung out of a prehistoric jungle, his ferocity fully exposed. Three pale white bone claws had already extended, trailing a blinding glint in the dim light. A suppressed, bloodthirsty growl emanated from his throat, and each breath exhaled scalding white steam.
His senses were sharper than Chu Hang's and Steve's; the increasingly strong smell of blood had completely ignited the beastly instincts within him.
He didn't come to rescue people; he came to serve food.
In the blink of an eye, they were less than ten meters away from the door!
