Chapter 159 Celie's Letter 2
Chapter 159 Celie's Letter 2
"I see! You're an adventurer."
The person stuck in the swamp looked at Frilian sitting on the shore and said.
Frillie wondered how such a big person could fall into such a large swamp. Was this person an idiot?
"A long time ago, I also longed to be an adventurer. It's something everyone has had, a silly childhood dream, when I was little..." (I won't finish here; it's in episode 13 of the anime, so you won't accuse me of padding the word count.)
The man trapped in the swamp told Frilian a long story about his childhood with his friends, but Frilian wasn't interested in any of it.
Why are you telling me this?
Frilian sat quietly to the side, watching the person who had fallen into the swamp.
"Our village's harvest festival is coming soon, and my brother asked me to come to the forest to pick wild herbs to take back and cook. Then I fell into a bottomless swamp. I'm doomed. But, if you hold my hand, maybe things will change."
Feeling himself slowly sinking, he began to panic. He didn't understand why, despite all he had said, the girl in front of him didn't seem to have any intention of saving him.
"Wait a minute, let me think about it."
Frillie watched quietly as the person slowly sank.
"We've come this far, what's there left to hesitate about?"
The more Frillie acted this way, the more anxious he became, because he only had his head sticking out.
"Your hands are too dirty."
"Frilian said calmly."
"Now is not the time to care about such things. Besides, little sister, adults are dirty."
His body sank a little further, and he wished the girl sitting next to him could pull him up.
"This is the first time I've encountered a physically corrupt adult. Could you give me a little more time? Let me recall the 'magic that pulls people out of the bottomless swamp'."
Frillie thought about it and decided to try to save him, but she needed some time. She needed to figure out what kind of magic she could use to get him out of the swamp.
"Please... please hurry, okay?"
He just hoped that the girl in front of him could rescue him quickly, otherwise he would really sink.
"Let me think about it..."
"Lady Frilian, have you gathered enough herbs?"
While Frillie was still thinking, Philon appeared beside her.
"Hmm, that's about enough."
Seeing that Philen had arrived, Frilian nodded.
"Hmm? Where is Lord Shi Yichen?"
Philon looked around and, apart from a person in the swamp, did not see Shi Yichen.
"Oh! Yichen has left because of something and won't be back for a few days."
Frilian said to Philon.
"I see."
Philon nodded.
"So what's his situation?"
Philon looked at the person trapped in the swamp and asked Frilian.
"Oh! Right, I almost forgot to get him out."
After being told this by Philon, Frillie realized what was happening, took out her wand, and cast a spell on the swamp, pulling the person out of the swamp.
…………
"Just drop me off here."
Zain stood at the village entrance and spoke to Frilian and the others.
"Lady Frillien has caused you trouble."
Philon stepped forward and said to Zain apologetically.
"It's alright, she did save my life after all."
Zain waved his hand and said to Philon.
"No, I'll give her a good scolding."
With Shi Yichen gone, Philon took on the responsibility of caring for Frillie.
Upon hearing Philon's words, Frillie sensed something was wrong.
"I don't care."
Hughtar whispered to Frilian, he wanted to interfere but dared not, because the other side was Philen, and Hughtar was terrified at the mere glance from her.
"Putting that aside for now, won't you come to the village for a visit? Although we're quite busy preparing for the harvest festival, we could at least thank you."
Zain asked Frilian and the other two, "You saved me, so I want to thank you properly."
"We want to replenish our supplies, so we need to go to a larger city today."
Frilian declined Zain's offer because Shi Yichen was in charge of most of the supplies, and Frilian's magical space was full of magic books and strange and unusual things.
Now that Shi Yichen has left, and Philon's magical space doesn't have many supplies, they need to go to the city to replenish their supplies.
"I see! Then be careful, there are many dangerous poisonous creatures around here."
Zain reminded Frilian and the others to be careful.
"Ah."
Frillie nodded and turned to leave.
"understood."
Shutark nodded and followed Frilian.
After giving Zain a slight bow, Philon caught up with Frillie.
"So many fruits!"
Along the way, Shutark saw ripe fruit on both sides of the road. He reached out to pick one and try it, but before he knew it, he was bitten by a snake hiding in a tree.
"ah…."
Shutark watched as he was bitten by a snake.
"I was bitten."
Seeing that he had been bitten by a snake, Shutark began to panic.
"Huh? You got bitten?"
Philon looked at Shutark in disbelief. Everyone had warned him to be careful, and yet he got bitten the next second.
"I told you to be careful, what are you doing? Honestly."
Frilian looked at Hugh Tarek speechlessly.
"Let's stop the bleeding first."
Philon looked at the ground where Shutark's arm had been bitten by a snake.
"My nose is bleeding."
Shutark felt a burning sensation in his nose, and blood started flowing down his nose.
"I hope it's not poisonous."
Looking at Hugh Tarek's appearance, Frilian felt as if he had been poisoned.
"Lady Frilian, do you know what kind of poison Mr. Shuttalk has been poisoned with?"
Upon hearing that it was poisonous, Philon couldn't help but start to worry about Shutark.
“Analyzing the types of toxins is a monk’s magic, I’m not good at that. I’ve never seen this kind of reaction before, and the antidote I have probably won’t work. If Yichen were here, she could handle the detoxification in no time. It would be better to go to the church.”
Frilian withdrew her hand from probing the poison in Shutalk's body. She only knew some simple monk magic. If it were Shi Yichen, he could have dealt with the poison in Shutalk's body in no time. But Shi Yichen was not here now, so she had to think of other ways.
"It's still quite a distance from here to the city. Even using flying magic will take some time. Let's go back to that village."
After thinking for a moment, Frilian decided to return to the village she had just been to see if the village priest had any way to cure the poison in Shutark's body.
"Philan, you move Shutark."
Frilian looked at Philon and said, "It's best not to move around if you're poisoned."
