Chapter 174: Specific Details of the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin
I released the snake into the Forbidden Forest and then planned to go and discuss with Severus and Headmaster Dumbledore how to lure them into the traps we had set for the next level.
"Harry Potter, this is a letter my father sent me about the opening of the Chamber of Secrets. Take a look for yourselves." Draco placed a letter directly in front of Harry. He hadn't forgotten what I had told him before. When it came to my business, Draco and Harry wouldn't argue.
"So fast? We haven't even asked Hagrid what happened yet." Hermione was also surprised that Draco would do what I asked so quickly.
Unlike the three of them, who are dragging their feet and haven't even found time to go find Hagrid yet.
“You guys are really slow. We’ve also gone to the library to find specific books about escape rooms.” All the people I usually hang out with went to the library and found all the books about escape rooms.
After being reprimanded by Fred, the three immediately got up and ran to Hagrid to ask about the Chamber of Secrets. They felt they couldn't fall behind Malfoy, and after learning what had happened, they ran back to the Great Hall.
I had just returned from the headmaster's office and was heading to the Great Hall for dinner when I bumped right into Harry.
"Don't you guys look where you're going?" He scooped Harry up in his arms as he was about to fall.
I suddenly remembered the time I tried to scam Cedric, and I couldn't help but laugh.
"I'm sorry, Senior Ayers, it was an accident." Harry helped me to my feet and blushed as he pulled away from my embrace.
"Where are you all headed?" I asked the three of them with a smile.
“We’re planning to go to the Great Hall. We’ve already asked Hagrid about the Chamber of Secrets, and now we’re just about to go find you, senior,” Hermione said, pretending not to notice the ambiguous relationship between Harry and me.
"Let's go then, I need to go get some dinner." I led the three little ones towards the hall.
As the four of us entered the hall, the sharp-eyed Fred waved his arm in our direction.
We walked straight toward their group, only to find that Draco was also sitting there.
"I just wanted to deliver the letter my father gave me to Ayers." The haughty Draco stood up immediately upon seeing the three little ones, handed me a letter, and then left to return to the Slytherin table.
"Why does Malfoy act like this when he meets Potter? He was just having a nice chat with us a moment ago," Oliver said, puzzled.
"It might be because of family reasons." I suddenly thought of Sirius Black, that silly kid is still locked up.
"Come on, let's eat something first and then talk." Cedric pulled me down to sit down as I was standing and thinking, and handed me a plate of food.
The trio of Harry and Mewtwo didn't have such service; they could only sit down quietly and prepare their own food.
After we had all finished dinner and cleaned up the table, we started discussing the topic of escape rooms.
"This is the account we found about the Chamber of Secrets: The four founders of Hogwarts (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin) had some disagreements in the early days of the school's founding."
Because Slytherin only wanted to admit students of purer blood, he was opposed by the other three, so he left the school.
Rumor has it that before he left, he built a "secret chamber" in the school, which only the true heir of Slytherin can open and release the monster inside to purify all students in the school whose blood is not pure.
Most teachers believed it was just a rumor, because many past headmasters, as well as the most learned wizards, had searched the school's castle and other areas multiple times, yet had still failed to find any trace of a "secret room." Percy read aloud from a book.
“This is the same as what Professor McGonagall told us at the beginning.” Hermione said after listening to Percy’s explanation of the Chamber of Secrets from the book he found.
"Why don't any of the professors know about the Chamber of Secrets?" Harry thought the professors were all very capable, so it was strange that the Chamber of Secrets hadn't been discovered for so long.
"The reason these people couldn't find the 'secret room' no matter how they searched the castle is because none of them speak Parsley," I said at that moment, and they all looked in my direction.
"Parsleyan is a language of snakes. To humans, it sounds like a hissing sound. Only a very small number of wizards use this language, and most of them are born with it. In addition, most of these wizards are descendants of Slytherin." I explained to them with a smile, and also glanced at Harry.
Harry could feel my gaze, and he himself didn't know why he could understand Parseltongue.
“Well, Ayers, didn’t you and Harry both speak that language last time? Harry is Gryffindor, so we can rule him out, but Ayers, you’re from Slytherin, and you also speak that language. You’re not going to be the heir to Slytherin, and you’re going to unleash monsters to purify the school, are you?” Fred made a very exaggerated expression.
"Do you think Ayers is that kind of person?" Percy slapped Fred on the head for talking nonsense.
“I can tell you with certainty that I could never be the Slytherin heir, but I can definitely speak Parseltongue.” I smiled and reached out to rub Fred’s head.
“Ayers, you learned Parseltongue later, didn’t you?” Cedric said to me.
"Yes, I learned Parseltongue later in life." I learned it on a whim after I started speaking Parseltongue with Riddle.
“Now we’re back to the question: where is the secret room?” George said.
"Hagrid told me that the secret room was opened when he was studying, but no one knows where it is." Hermione recounted everything the three of them had learned from Hagrid.
"It seems we'll be searching for the entrance to that secret room for the foreseeable future," Ron concluded.
"Let's call it a day then. It's almost time for the night shift, and we should all go back to our dorms." Percy, the prefect, stood up, preparing to go on patrol, and urged us to head back.
"Let's call it a day then. We should be leaving now." I feel like I've revealed a lot to them today; now it's up to them to decide what to do next.
Should we give them a little surprise? I'll go find the basilisk and pretend to fight the final boss, so they can get some experience.
This looks interesting; I'll have to discuss it with the principal and Siever later.
