Chapter 679 Malfoy's Plan
"You just said that Malfoy went to see Snape?" Siron looked up at Harry.
"No, it should be said that Snape went to find Malfoy, just five minutes ago." Harry shook his head.
Siron was somewhat surprised. Harry knew that Snape and Malfoy had met in secret, but instead of eavesdropping on what they were saying, he went straight back to the common room.
Is this really Harry?
"It's a pity they're in their Slytherin dormitories," Harry said with annoyance, which also answered Siren's question.
Okay, Harry is still Harry, he hasn't changed at all. He's only back because he can't get into the Slytherin dormitories.
Then Harry took out the Marauder's Map.
The area marked as the Slytherin common room was crowded with many different names, but two stood out—Malfoy and Snape. Their names were not with the others; even on the crowded map, they could be seen separated by a blank space.
It seems that Snape called Malfoy away to a secluded place. As the head of Slytherin, this was incredibly easy for Snape.
Xilun immediately stood up and walked outside.
"Sirlen, where are you going?" Harry asked hurriedly.
"Of course we should go and hear what they're saying," Xilun said.
"They're in the Slytherin dormitories. We don't know the password, so we can't get in," Harry said, but instinctively followed.
"It's okay, I have other ways."
The two went out into the corridor.
Ron wasn't with them this time; he had gone to borrow homework from Hermione and wasn't around.
The two came up the stairs, and Harry thought they were going to go all the way to the first-floor foyer and then take another staircase to the underground classroom.
But when they arrived on the second floor, Xilun had already gone down the stairs.
Harry was about to follow when Siron stopped him.
"Go hide near the entrance to the Slytherin common room," he said. "Keep an eye on the Marauder's Map, and if you spot Dumbledore or Professor McGonagall nearby, try to make some noise to alert me."
Harry was a little confused as to why they had to keep an eye on Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall when they went to the Slytherin common room, but since Siron had said so, he could only nod and agree.
How can I remind you?
"Anything is fine, the louder the better."
"No problem," Harry said, and continued down the stairs.
Meanwhile, Xilun arrived at the library entrance.
There was no curfew yet, and the library was still quite full, mostly fifth-year students. Siron knew perfectly well that they would stay until five minutes before curfew, when Mrs. Pince, the librarian, would start ushering people out.
The candlelight on the wall flickered, and Xiren disappeared, but a black cat appeared out of thin air on the railing at the library entrance.
"Siren waited patiently; he needed a key."
A minute later, the two boys walked out of the library. He glanced up at them briefly before looking away.
Then two more girls came out carrying books and went down the stairs.
This time, Xiren immediately stood up.
The only common room below the second floor is occupied by Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Although Siron didn't know the two girls, he recognized them immediately as Slytherin.
This is not difficult. Most Slytherins have little expression on their faces, as if they are always wearing a mask, and there is always a faint sense of superiority in their eyes and body.
Xilun was right.
After arriving at the underground classroom, the two girls went straight past the floor where the Hufflepuff common room was located and walked all the way to the bottom.
Siren had been here before; the entrance to the Slytherin common room was hidden behind a wall.
The two girls arrived there quickly.
"What was today's password again?"
"It seems to be a preference for purebloods."
As soon as he finished speaking, a giant snake emerged from the ground, its long body forming the shape of a door on the wall.
The girl had just pushed the door open when she suddenly felt something dart past her side with a whoosh.
"what!"
She screamed in fright, then realized it was a black cat that vanished in the blink of an eye.
After entering the common room, Xiren quickly found the location marked on the Marauder's Map. It was a corner between the dormitory and the common room.
Thankfully, Snape and Malfoy were still there.
"I hope you're telling the truth, because that was a clumsy and foolish thing to do, and you're already under suspicion!"
"Who suspects me?" Malfoy looked at Snape without any politeness. "I didn't do this. I didn't use the Imperius Curse on that stupid woman, and she's not worth it!"
"Don't lie to me, Draco, I'm saving you!"
"I told you, this has nothing to do with me!" Malfoy said angrily. "You should say the same thing to other people—those fools who want to use Potter and Ollivander to get a reward from the Dark Lord."
"They've done this before, haven't they? Attacking the Aurors in Hogsmeade. I really don't understand why the Dark Lord would let such idiots join in, but thanks to them, my plans were brought forward—"
"Shut up!" Snape snapped. "You are absolutely forbidden from talking about your master behind his back, Draco, if you don't want to die."
Malfoy's pale face flushed red, but this time he did not refute.
After a pause, Snape said softly, "No matter what, I will help you. I swore an oath to your mother to protect you. I made an unbreakable vow, Draco. You don't need to doubt me."
"Looks like you need to break through. I don't need your protection. This is my job, he assigned it to me, and I'm doing it."
Tell me your plans.
"That's none of your business!"
"I can help you."
"7
"I have help."
"Crawb and Goyle, they're not as reliable as you think."
"On the contrary, I think they are more trustworthy than you!"
Subconsciously, the two of them raised their voices, which quickly attracted the attention of others.
Although Snape, as the headmaster, had previously forbidden others from approaching this corner, some people couldn't resist their curiosity and secretly moved closer after hearing the sounds of the two arguing.
Malfoy said nothing more and strode towards the dormitory. Snape stood in the shadows, his expression hidden from Cyrus's view.
He soon emerged, walked through the common lounge, and pushed open the door in the wall amidst the curious gazes of the crowd.
Upon seeing this, Siron quickly ran over and followed Snape out of Slytherin's common room.
Snape noticed the black cat beside him, but didn't pay it any mind.
There are too many students at Hogwarts who keep cats, and although this cat runs away, it has no obligation to look after the students' pets.
