Chapter 3 Sea Otter
Chapter 3 Sea Otter
Navelette never imagined that she wouldn't know her own identity.
Just as he had said before, when he first wrote back in his usual handwriting, he assumed the guy on the other end would guess who he was, so he never imagined he would see another letter in the same place the next day.
Navelette had to admit that he was actually quite flattered.
Perhaps because of his identity, apart from the innocent and carefree Melusin, few people are willing to approach him, and they often avoid him after learning his identity.
For him, Chloe was special, perhaps... his first human friend?
Therefore, he was willing to take time out of his heavy official duties to help her solve the problem, and even gladly accepted today's invitation.
However, their friendly and intimate attitude was ultimately based on the fact that they did not know his identity.
Navelette could see her panic; her evasive eyes and incoherent speech all indicated her desire to escape.
"I'm sorry..." he repeated again.
It wasn't just because of his previous misunderstanding, but also because of the increasingly heavy rain.
As the water dragon of Fontaine, his mood affects the weather, but there's no way to explain it; the only thing one can do is try to make amends.
Navelette took off her coat and draped it over Chloe's head: "Let's get out of the rain first, no matter what."
Humans are very fragile; even a light rain can make them seriously ill.
The rain grew heavier and heavier, soon turning into a fine curtain of rain.
This time, Villette didn't wear the overly conspicuous attire of a judge. Instead, he wore casual clothes, which were even made in advance for today's meeting.
Beneath his coat was a carefully chosen white shirt, already a close-fitting garment, now clung tightly to his body after the rain, with glimpses of flesh showing through the dampness.
He himself was unaware of his inappropriateness, and after handing over his coat, he took a step back, creating distance between himself and Chloe.
The sudden action startled the latter, who couldn't help but ask, "And what about you?"
Navelette didn't want her presence to be a burden to her: "Don't worry about me, it's not far from Moman Palace."
The implication was that they planned to go straight home in the rain.
Chloe didn't know where she got the courage from, but upon hearing those words, she grabbed his hand without saying a word, pulled him to her side, and opened her coat to bring him into this small, peaceful place.
Even though the man was a head taller than her, she had to struggle to stand on tiptoe to do all this.
Even so, Villette could only bow slightly, her pale purple eyes looking at her helplessly.
Chloe then belatedly realized that her behavior was extremely rude, especially since the person opposite her was the Supreme Judge, whom she could not afford to offend.
But the thought of how this guy hadn't taken his body seriously at all still made her very angry.
Even though it was common knowledge that the Supreme Judge of Fontaine was not an ordinary human, she had also heard that the gods of Liyue next door could die!
Thinking this, her tone inevitably became more impolite: "Even for Lord Vilette, it would probably take quite a while to return to the Mo Mang Palace, wouldn't it?"
Although you can easily see the Mo Mang Palace from this place, it's only because Fontaine's terrain is like a depression. It looks close, but in reality, it's just a short horizontal distance. To get back to Mo Mang Palace, it would take quite a while just to climb the stairs.
Even someone as oblivious to human emotions as Navelette could see her displeasure at that moment.
Even so, she still held her own hand tightly and walked forward.
The intense heat of their clasped hands stood out starkly in the cool rain, causing Navelette to momentarily lose his senses until Chloe led him to a stop in front of a building, bringing him back to his senses.
"here it is?"
"It's my house," Chloe said irritably.
The layout of Fontaine can be roughly divided into two parts: the upper part is mostly office space such as the Mo Mang Palace, while the lower part is designated as a residential area.
In order to attract the maximum number of customers, the "Café Luze" where they used to work was naturally located in a residential area, so it doesn't take much time to get to Chloe's residence now.
As the Supreme Judge, Navelette lived inside the Palace of Moman and was usually buried in his papers, so he rarely had the opportunity to come to the lower parts of Fontaine and was naturally unaware of these things.
However, this was not the time to think about such things. It was Navelette's first time visiting someone else's home, and she tried her best to stop the thoughts that were running wild in her mind and followed Chloe inside.
*
The house was surprisingly not small, and it included almost everything needed, such as a study, kitchen, and bathroom.
But how should I put it... it seems a bit messy?
Navelette was pinned down on the living room sofa by Chloe. She was trying her best to keep her eyes on Chloe and not to look elsewhere, but out of the corner of her eye she could still see the clothes piled up haphazardly and the ornaments scattered around her.
Chloe belatedly realized that her house seemed excessively dirty and messy.
She wouldn't normally do this, but today was the day she had been looking forward to meeting her pen pal in person, so she got up early to prepare, and hadn't packed these things yet because she was worried she wouldn't have enough time.
But Navelette wouldn't know any of this! He probably doesn't think he's a slovenly person!
Chloe's face suddenly turned red.
This scene was clearly seen by Navelette, but before he could say anything, Chloe quickly covered it up, saying, "Ahem! It's so cold after being caught in the rain, Lord Navelette, let's take a hot bath as soon as possible!"
Unaware that the cough was just a pretense to distract her, Villette assumed she had genuinely caught a cold from the rain and politely declined her suggestion to shower first with a serious expression. To avoid further nagging, she even pushed Villette into the bathroom.
As for himself, he continued to sit on the sofa, lost in thought.
Just then, the little sea otter, having heard the commotion outside, slowly emerged from its pool. But upon entering the living room, it didn't see its pink-haired owner, but rather a strange fellow.
From its perspective, the creature sitting on the sofa with its back to it had fur that looked even whiter and softer than its own, and even the two strands of blue mixed in were brighter than its own. It was clearly an enlarged version of an otter that was even prettier than its own!
How awful! Its seemingly innocent-looking owner with thick eyebrows and big eyes has cheated on it!
The little sea otter was so startled that it dropped the seashell from its hand.
The sound did not escape Villette's ears. He turned around and saw a small sea otter picking up the shell again and then rushing towards him with unstoppable force.
Unfortunately, its claws couldn't hurt Navelette, who was a water dragon. Navelette even thought it was playing with her and easily stopped it. She even put the little sea otter on her lap and petted it for a while.
The little sea otter's fur was thick and dense, with a unique feel. Villette couldn't resist touching it again, until the little sea otter became so angry that it kept whimpering and slapping its four paws, which were full of rejection.
Unfortunately, it was facing Navelette, a creature that couldn't even read human emotions, let alone a tiny sea otter like itself.
Hearing the sea otter's naturally somewhat coquettish call, he assumed it was happy and immediately became even more energetic in his movements.
This is the scene Chloe saw when she came out of the shower.
Upon seeing her, the little sea otter could no longer suppress the grievances in his heart. Taking advantage of the moment when Villette was distracted by her appearance, he quickly escaped his clutches and ran into his master's arms.
"Waaah! Waaah waaah!" it said, occasionally pointing to Navelette sitting over there.
Although she couldn't understand what it was saying, Chloe quickly guessed what had happened from the action.
The little sea otter, with tears in its eyes, was still crying and begging for justice.
Chloe almost burst out laughing, but for the sake of her pet's physical and mental health, she decided it was better not to do something so unethical.
She carried the baby sea otter in her arms and walked toward Navelette.
The latter sat upright with a serious expression, but he was too guilty to look at her.
Clearly, he finally realized that the little sea otter's reaction was an expression of rejection, not happiness.
Chloe wanted to laugh even more, but out of consideration for his feelings, she didn't tease him about it. Instead, she helped him out by letting him go to the bathroom.
The little sea otter was placed on the sofa and continued to hug its seashell and whimper.
But Chloe didn't have time to coax it right away. Instead, she was busy rummaging through her wardrobe, trying to find a suitable outfit for Navelette. But she was a real single woman, so how could she possibly find men's clothes?
She could only find a few unisex clothes that she had never worn.
Even so, the fabric of these clothes was very comfortable, and the design was also quite remarkable. It was the kind of outfit that Chloe liked at first sight, and if she remembered correctly, this outfit was quite expensive.
She just couldn't remember why she hadn't worn it before.
But now was not the time to dwell on that. She knocked on the bathroom door and asked Violet if she minded wearing this.
After receiving a noncommittal reply, Chloe handed the clothes in.
When Navelette came out, she finally remembered why she hadn't worn them in the first place.
Chloe bought this outfit when she had just finished losing weight and was full of confidence. To show off her results, she deliberately chose this loose but see-through design, which can be said to fully embody the beauty of being alluring yet seductive.
However, after that, she was punished by the meat again because she ate too much. Unexpectedly, this dress came in such a role after all.
The originally loose, long shirt looked a bit short on Villette, so he had to tuck the hem into his trousers. However, this made the sides of the shirt bulge out a bit, vaguely outlining his thin waist with the light and shadow.
The design concept of this thing is truly one of coy embrace...
Chloe couldn't help but steal several glances, until Violet became increasingly reserved, before finally asking him insincerely, "Does it fit?"
Apart from a slight tightness in her shoulders, everything else was fine. Vilette wasn't a picky person, so she didn't say anything and just nodded.
His long, wet hair was uncomfortable hanging down his back. He originally planned to use water elemental manipulation to solve the problem, but Chloe had already come over with a hairdryer.
Navelette had never used this before, and instinctively sat up straight.
Chloe had originally intended for him to come by himself, but upon seeing his expression, she couldn't resist the urge to misbehave, since she had wanted to touch his hair as soon as they met.
