Chapter 80 Interrogation of Japanese Spies
Chapter 80 Interrogation of Japanese Spies
"Alright, I'll thank you again after we bring the person back."
The magistrate was in a good mood. He had found the person so quickly, and he could finally show off in front of the old man.
In fact, Su Yuncheng had already determined his target when he reported to the old man.
This efficiency amazed him.
Su Yuncheng was unwilling to go to the lounge with him. He went straight back to his office to handle official business and wait for news. The Special Service Department was a large organization with many things to do.
"You are welcome."
Su Yuncheng smiled and shook his head, while Qu Ning lowered her head and watched the director and Secretary Qi leave.
"Section Chief Qu, could you please lend me your car? I need to go buy something."
Since it was still early, Su Yuncheng didn't waste any time at the Special Service Department and decided to go buy the camera he needed.
"No problem, here are the keys, the car is downstairs."
Qu Ning immediately took out a key. Given the attitude the Director had towards Su Yuncheng, he would lend him anything the Special Service Department had, let alone a car.
Su Yuncheng took the keys, thanked him, and quickly left.
He wouldn't buy a camera looking like this. After driving back to the vicinity of the hotel, Su Yuncheng got out of the car and walked to find a public restroom.
She removed her disguise, took off her coat and tied it around her waist, changed her hairstyle, and then returned to her room.
Quickly reverting to his original appearance, Su Yuncheng didn't drive anymore, but instead hailed a rickshaw to the foreign company that sold cameras.
Nanjing does have the camera they need, but unfortunately there's only one.
I need one copy; I'll go back and let the people at the newspaper get used to it first, and buy the other one when it arrives at the Shanghai branch.
Having bought the camera, Su Yuncheng had almost finished his business in Nanjing, except for the unexpected gain he hadn't dealt with yet.
He has time; it's not too late to go in the evening.
Su Yuncheng put on his disguise again, got into his car and drove back to the Special Agent's Office. When he passed the intersection, he paid special attention to the two people on the side of the road.
They were in a restaurant, one the owner and the other the waiter.
After seeing his car at the restaurant, both of them paid more attention to him.
It seems they knew this was a Secret Service vehicle.
"Mr. Pu, you're back."
Su Yuncheng arrived at the intelligence section, where he was greeted by a member of the intelligence team.
Qu Ning and Wei Changfeng were both absent. This time, the intelligence team discovered the person, so the arrest operation was definitely their responsibility. Wei Changfeng personally led a small team from the action section out of the city to make the arrest.
The Operations Section has even more people; a single group has over a hundred people, and even a single team has dozens of people. It's enough to capture a Japanese spy.
Qu Ning returned to his office and waited for their good news, just like the department head.
"What's your name?"
Su Yuncheng looked at the team members in front of him. They were not short, about 1.7 meters tall, looked energetic, and were not old, at most 24 or 25 years old.
He was in his forties at the time, and in terms of appearance, he was indeed much older than the team members in front of him.
"Mr. Pu, my name is Gao Changhe, you can just call me Xiao Gao."
Gao Changhe was quick-witted and took the initiative to pour water for Su Yuncheng. He didn't know Su Yuncheng's identity, but this person was very capable and directly helped them find the person they had been searching for for more than ten days.
"Thank you, Xiao Gao."
Su Yuncheng took the water and chatted casually with Gao Changhe. He didn't ask about the Special Service Department, but mainly about some trivial matters and interesting stories.
Gao Changhe respected him greatly, and was a little nervous during their conversation. Gao Changhe didn't know Su Yuncheng's true identity, but since the director was so polite to Su Yuncheng, he dared not be negligent.
"They're back, Mr. Pu. They've brought back the people they arrested."
Not long after, a team member ran into the meeting room, and Su Yuncheng stood up.
Judging from his expression, the arrest must have gone smoothly, otherwise he wouldn't be so happy.
The arrest went smoothly. When Wei Changfeng and his team arrived, Qian Jin was not at the headquarters, but at home with his wife.
To be on the safe side, Wei Changfeng arranged for someone to lure Qian Jin out, and then arrested him.
Qian Jin was caught off guard; the action team members were quite skilled, and he was secretly taken away.
When Su Yuncheng arrived at the interrogation room, Qu Ning was already there; he was the first to arrive.
"Senior, please."
Less than a minute after Su Yuncheng entered, Qu Ning saw the section chief and Secretary Qi walk in together.
The magistrate nodded and looked at Su Yuncheng, saying, "Please sit down, sir."
Thank you.
Su Yuncheng didn't stand on ceremony and sat down at the interrogation table. There were only two people sitting at the interrogation table: Su Yuncheng and the section chief.
Secretary Qi stood as usual, and Qu Ning could only stand behind the director.
"Bring it in."
Qu Ning called out, and Qian Jin was taken into the interrogation room. His mouth was gagged, and a hood was placed over his head. He kept making muffled noises.
The hood was never removed during the journey, and Wei Changfeng personally guarded him. No one spoke in the car. At this point, Qian Jin still didn't know who had arrested him or where he had been taken.
Two interrogators skillfully hoisted him up before removing the hood.
Qian Jin squinted. The interrogation room was rather dim, but he adapted quickly.
Seeing the surrounding environment and the people sitting in front of him, Qian Jin's heart skipped a beat.
This is a place of torture.
It wasn't a kidnapping. On the way, he kept thinking about who had arrested him. He believed he hadn't given anything away, and he also knew that the Secret Service was looking for him.
But he was absolutely confident that he was not in any government or military unit and that those idiots in the Secret Service would never be able to find him.
He was notified that he would be evacuated immediately in case of an emergency.
But unless absolutely necessary, and when he is certain of being exposed, he cannot make any unusual moves.
His identity is too important. He has finally managed to infiltrate a place close to the Chairman of the National Assembly in China. He will play a crucial role at this critical moment, and we must not give up on him easily.
"Should I call you Qian Jin, or Fu Rong?"
The comrade asked first, and Qian Jin's heart sank again. The other party knew his code name, so it seemed that they had really found him.
But he couldn't understand how the other side had discovered him when he was hiding so well, in such a secluded place as the camp outside the city.
Su Yuncheng felt relieved; it was him.
Qian Jin kept glancing at the section chief and him, trying to guess their identities, and all his emotional fluctuations were captured by Su Yuncheng.
Uneasy, unwilling, desperate, yet with a sliver of expectation and a glimmer of hope.
This is not an emotion that someone who has been wronged would have.
"I don't understand what you're talking about. Whatever you want, I'll give you whatever I have. Just don't do anything foolish. My older brother is very powerful; he's one of the Chairman's men."
Qian Jin's disguise was very convincing; this was his last resort, hoping to fool everyone.
"Your older brother? Do you think he still has a chance?"
The comrade laughed. In his eyes, a platoon leader was nothing. If this platoon leader hadn't been the Chairman's bodyguard, he wouldn't have given him a second glance.
Knowing the old man's personality, he was certain that the platoon leader was doomed, but he wasn't worried at all.
"Tell me, what did you do in Nanjing? What intelligence did you provide to the Special Higher Police? What else did you do? Confess properly, and you'll suffer less."
The magistrate said calmly, but Qian Jin continued to protest his innocence. Soon the magistrate lost his patience and ordered the torture to be carried out.
