Chapter 31 Brigitte's Experiences at Shrek Academy
Chapter 31 Brigitte's Experiences at Shrek Academy
During their three months at Shrek Academy, Brigitte and Violet each had their own unique experiences.
Because the two women were illiterate, the college assigned them a female teaching assistant.
She was a young woman dressed in the uniform of a junior teacher at Shrek Academy. She looked to be about eighteen or nineteen years old, with delicate features and a neat ponytail.
She wore the Shrek Academy badge on her chest, signifying her status as a graduate, but the patterns on her epaulets indicated that she was currently only an intern teacher.
"Hello, Ms. Huo Biling and Ms. Huo Ziyan." The young woman bowed respectfully to Biji and Ziji.
"I am Lin Qingqing, a newly assigned teaching assistant from the Academic Affairs Office. I just graduated from the School of Foreign Languages and am responsible for assisting the two teachers with some daily affairs and basic course tutoring for the third-year students."
Brigitte said gently, "Hello, Assistant Instructor Lin. I am Huo Biling."
Zi Ji said, "Hello. I am Huo Ziyan."
Lin Qingqing took out several documents from the folder she was carrying: "Teachers, this is the timetable for third grade next week. You need to review and confirm it."
In addition, the Academic Affairs Office would like to understand the two teachers' specific needs for the teaching assistant work so that I can prepare in advance.
Brigitte took the document and said gently to Lin Qingqing, "Thank you for your hard work, Assistant Lin."
As for our needs... I think you should know our situation.
"Of course, I'm free anytime, and I can start right away." Lin Qingqing's academic performance is excellent.
And so, Lin Qingqing's lesson began in Brigitte's room.
She had clearly made thorough preparations, bringing illustrated and well-prepared educational materials.
"Teacher Huo Biling, Teacher Huo Ziyan, today we'll start with the most basic pronunciation and strokes."
Lin Qingqing's voice was gentle and clear. She first neatly wrote the words "one, two, three" on the small whiteboard she had brought with her.
"This is 'one,' a horizontal line, representing the smallest integer..." Lin Qingqing explained, demonstrating the pronunciation.
Brigitte's expression was focused as she softly repeated, "One..."
Zi Ji seemed somewhat absent-minded. She rested her chin on one hand, while the fingers of her other hand unconsciously tapped lightly on the table.
To her, these winding symbols were far less direct and interesting than cultivation and combat.
But prompted by Brigitte's gaze, she reluctantly repeated it once.
…………
Lin Qingqing has already started teaching writing.
"Look, the character '人' (person) is composed of two strokes, one left and one right, supporting each other, just like two people standing together..." she said, as she slowly wrote a neat "人" character on the whiteboard.
Brigitte observed very carefully, even tracing the lines in the air with her finger, her brows furrowed slightly, as if trying to understand the philosophy contained in these simple strokes.
Zi Ji pursed her lips and said in a low voice, "Just stand on two legs, why make up so many reasons?"
Time passed quickly. "Teachers, Huo Yutong, that's all for today. You can practice by writing it out on paper a few more times," Lin Qingqing said.
I also explained the course schedule to Brigitte and Ziji, inquired about the teaching assistant requirements, and arranged the teaching time for tomorrow.
"Teacher Lin, thank you for your guidance. It's lunchtime now. Do you have time to have a simple meal with us sisters?" Brigitte invited.
Lin Qingqing was clearly taken aback by the direct invitation she received.
But she quickly gave a polite smile: "It would be my honor to have dinner with you two teachers. I'll take my leave then."
"Great!" Zi Ji's eyes lit up; she had long been looking forward to the delicious food in Shrek Academy's cafeteria.
Before long, the three of them arrived at the Shrek Academy's senior faculty dining area.
The environment here is elegant, and the food is more refined than that in the student cafeteria. The task of ordering food fell to Lin Qingqing.
When the delicious dishes were served, "These crystal shrimp dumplings taste really good!" Zi Ji picked up a crystal-clear dumpling and squinted her eyes in satisfaction.
Brigitte remained elegant during the meal, tasting the dishes in small bites and occasionally asking Lin Qingqing questions about the ingredients or cooking methods.
Lin Qingqing answered seriously, and at appropriate times steered the conversation toward interesting anecdotes from the college and some details of the course schedule.
During the meal, Brigitte casually mentioned, "Teaching Assistant Lin, Ziyan and I are new here and don't know much about the academy's rules. We're afraid we'll have to trouble you a lot in the future."
Especially when dealing with other faculty members within the institute and with outsiders, there are etiquette and documentation requirements to be aware of…”
Lin Qingqing immediately understood that the two "teachers" were subtly indicating that they needed her assistance with cultural customs and interpersonal communication.
She put down her chopsticks and said earnestly, "Teacher Huo Biling, you're too kind. This is what I should do."
Whether it's document processing or communication with other departments, I will do my best to assist the two teachers.
If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me.
Zi Ji swallowed a piece of tender fish and interjected, "That's right, that's right. Those convoluted words and phrases are the most troublesome. With you here, we have it much easier."
Biji's life was simple from then on. She taught third-grade students with Ziji, attended Lin Qingqing's literacy class after class, reviewed the knowledge she had learned in the evening, and Huo Yutong would spend the weekend evenings with them, sharing what she had seen and felt during the week, and having Tianmeng check and replenish her mental energy disguise.
It wasn't until Huo Yutong brought her a Xuan Shui Pill that she was truly moved. Since she was going to learn from humans, she should learn as much as possible.
So, through Beibei and Tang Ya, she bought another Xuan Shui Dan from Xu Sanshi, which she intended to use for research.
Then she asked Lin Qingqing if the academy had any alchemy masters.
Thus, Brigitte followed Lin Qingqing through building after building before finally entering the inner courtyard of Shrek Academy—the Medicine Pavilion.
Upon entering, a rich and complex medicinal fragrance wafts towards you. It is not pungent, but rather invigorating, as if every breath is cleansing your body.
Looking around, the interior of the medicine pavilion is much more spacious than it appears from the outside, clearly due to the use of advanced space expansion technology.
The medicine shelves were filled with countless medicinal herbs, and there were even some animal hearts sealed in jade boxes, still beating slightly, radiating a powerful life force.
"The Medicine Pavilion is one of the core departments of the Inner Court," Lin Qingqing said with pride as she softly introduced it to Biji.
"Mainly responsible for refining various pills and potions to aid cultivation, heal injuries, and detoxify."
Brigitte's eyes were filled with amazement and curiosity. As a ferocious beast with extreme life attributes, her perception of the spiritual objects of heaven and earth far surpassed that of humans.
